Thursday again, eh? After last week’s Not-So-Historical Thursday post I decided that we should go back to the glorious 18th century. Remember growing up without cell phones and text messaging? They seem impossible to live without now, not to mention all other forms of instant communication. But the desire to send messages quickly has been slowly developed over thousands of years. The Ancient Greeks first started it with warning fires a la Gondor and the French further developed these optical telegraphs during times of turmoil.
