My new video card is rather LARGE, and there was only one slot on the motherboard which could accomodate it. It’s VERY close to my sound card (which also cannot be moved), and I noticed a strange “ping..ping..PINGPINGPING” sound coming from the case. All the heat generated inside was making the entire video card warp slightly (this only occurs when playing Fallout 3 with LOTS of mods) and the fan was coming into contact with some of the solder points on the sound board! Yikes!

He had problems with overheating so he decided to fix it with little pieces of plastic? This should end well.

    I confess, this is my own work. I don’t need much of a web-server, so when the old one died, I recycled an old netbook with the aid of a USB drive caddy. The gaffa tape was an added bonus to keep it all together – and prompted this submission.

    I’m pretty jealous, TIFI’s servers are about half this size and we haven’t even been able to upgrade from Scotch tape yet.

    I’ve seen photos of this thing floating around for a while, but never did it occur to me that it’s in fact a real product. Available from Hammacher Schlemmer, this Wenger tool holds the Guinness Word Record for being the most multi-functional penknife. Kudos to you if you can name all of its functions. If not, here’s a real Swiss guy going over how ridiculous this thing really is.

    I’m pissed they took the laser out.

    $.75 Fix

    The CPU fan on my computer broke. The screw holes of the replacement fan did not match up with the old screw holes in the heat sink (there were notches cut out of the corners, there was nowhere to screw the new fan to). I had to find a way to make my own screw holes for the fan, without impeding air flow.
