For this Mississippi, this isn’t really out of the norm…
Feather! Feather! Or you’ll be catching a crab!
Looks like a cool way to row, actually! Is this an example of substitutiary locomotion?
row-row your barge gently down the missippi
That’s just your average redneck Self-Propelled Crane Barge.
Let’s see, call for towboat, wait four hours, pay $1000.00 for a fifteen minute tow. Or use backhoe to move barge, yes just another dumb redneck.
I’m with you D.C. this is a win for the crane
It’s called a trackhoe, not a backhoe. Backhoes have wheels and a front bucket as well.
But yes, I say this is a win
it’s called a excavator not a truckhoe you redneck.
*an.. you douche nozzle.
Gee, it say’s on my contract for the one I bought backhoe, but I guess you guys know better than the manufacture.
So, is this Wincrane?
^THIS
Huckleberry Crane.
LOL that’s awesome
Well, that’s one way of dealing with those giant jumping Asiatic carp. How many barge-days do they figure it will take to eradicate the problem?
Lol! Beats getting out and pushing, I suppose. Was he singing ‘Row, row, row ya boat’ do you think?
This is what construction equipment does to relax on weekends, not like the lazy farm equipment that just sits in a field all day.
+1
row, row your boat…
Aww looks like the little guy got thirsty.
It’s also great at hillbilly hand fishing.
OMG, that’s a big kayak.
Definitely WinCrane!
…This is going to be tested on next week’s Mythbusters!
and teh anzer is CONFIRMED!!!! I wonder what tonights episonde is on. i’ll see in 1 1/2 hrs
Steering and stopping must be interesting.
FWIW
This is a dredge barge used to deepen a channel so ships/ boats dont get stuck
Mud is scooped up from the shallow river bottom and dispersed in the current
Ah, but is he moving upstream or down, and does the barge have any other propulsion?
There has been a similar bet in a german TV-Show
Now THAT’s an excavator operator! When he (or she) gets where they’re going, they’ll probably dig a slip for it before calling it a day.
This is going to be attempted on the 10/19 episode of Mythbusters.
As well as the post below this one (the duct tape airplane repair).
Mississippi!
Sure they aren’t just cleaning the muck off the thing?
I bet that when they are dredging it is hard work to keep the thing from moving and a skilled operator takes advantage of that movement to position the barge for the next shovel full.
