
If you have spent any time on this site, you well know that DIY attempts can go very, very wrong. But hey, at least we know only 40% of men are doomed to complete fixing failure.
The study of 2,000 men found most lack the ability to carry out tasks such as tiling walls, fitting a carpet or changing taps. Even unblocking a sink or toilet leaves 49 per cent completely stumped.
Chris Burke, of tradesmen recommendation service RatedPeople.com, said: ‘Those who assume most men can turn their hand to basic tasks such as drilling a few holes to fit a curtain rail are wrong.
It’s okay though, just remember even “professionals” who get paid to make repairs are sometimes in the same boat:
