Yes that’s quite a mouthful. But I would happily learn Thai and trek through the hills to find this wonderful creation. This is a Buddhist temple made entirely out of empty beer bottles. Although Buddhist monks abstain from alcohol, they are quite the keen recyclers.
Made of 1.5 million Heineken and Chang bottles, the temple is actually a campus of 20 buildings including bathrooms and houses. The building started in 1984 and continues to this day. Neat!
Does any of this sound familiar? It might for you hardcore Fixers; it’s pretty similar to Tressa Prisbrey’s bottle village.
