In the first few decades of the 20th century, Germany was all about the zeppelin. Used for both war and luxurious travel, the rigid airship was a symbol of national pride. But one engineer had the idea to bring the beautiful balloon down to earth. Franz Kruckenberg’s most famous invention was the SCHIENENZEPPELIN, a high speed propeller train.
