Strange. It looks like Dell Latitude D830 (can’t remember if D820 had that design) which I’m typing this on. And this has speakers on the inside, on each side of the keyboard. The cone would go under the machine where the hard drive is. So, can’t really understand what the purpose is…
That’s either the Latitude D531, D630, or D830. None of them have a speaker at the front, they are on either side of the keyboard. There’s nothing on the front, not even a vent and I don’t see how that would help with the latch.
Actually, the D630 does have a single speaker on the front – I’m typing this on one. And yeah, it’s pretty damn pathetic, even for a dinky little laptop speaker.
@sergio
Its too thin to be a d531 and i don’t think its wide enough to be of the D820/d830 Series. The computer is most likely a D620/D630 which does have the speaker assembly in the front of the system. And yes the integrated speakers are not very good. How do i know you might ask? Well i service these computers just about every single day and have prob done over 1000 of this model.
so, you can afford nextflix every month and you can’t get a decent pair of speakers?
maybe they got the log-in info from somebody and all they do is stream, ive told my GF so she can watch movies at her place.
My first reaction was, “massive cooling problem fix – where’s the fan?” Guess I should look at newer models someday.

That’s a horn; not a cone — just sayin.
My sister has that laptop, and it does have really pathetic speakers.

I call shenanigans on this “fix”
