  1. TheCannyScot says:

LOLd at the announcement – “Please fly away.”

  2. dd says:

    So useless

  3. Whatever says:

Not sure this would withstand rain so well, and rain is quite common in Germany. Not sure the type of motion sensor they hooked up would react to something as small as a bird. And what about power…?

Anyway, this is some kind of viral ad for an online electronics shop. Not the best demonstration of something useful and interesting, but it’s OK.

    Also, not a kludge.

  4. xxfurygeistxx says:

I want one for my garden. Just so I can be greeted when I go out to hoe…

  5. tenfour says:

    totally spies like us

  6. Russell Nash says:

The company is the low-end Radio Shack of Germany.

The Scarecrow says, “Attention, Attention, Continue flying along.” That’s a direct translation. It means “Don’t stop here. Keep flying.”

  7. Maxaxle says:

    Truly, epicly, AWESOME.

  8. Elanor says:

Totally didn’t make any sense until the end, then it was awesome. I laughed so hard I cried.

  9. Matty2Fatty says:

    That’ll do it

  10. jk says:

There are more of these kludges/viral ads from conrad.
Neat bike lock (making of and final spot – german)

  11. slim says:

Evidently, a retired Rube Goldberg now grows corn in Germany.

  12. Softgods says:

Probably one of the funniest things i have ever seen on this site.

  13. evildave says:

Seems to me that the motion sensor plus almost anything to move about suddenly, like a solenoid and buzzer would work just fine. No need for the other $1000 worth of equipment.

Especially since after a week, when the novelty wears off, the birds will be perched on it and never even budge, even after it started moving.

  14. watchout4keith says:

    Pimp my scare crow.
