i dont get it
You’d think that those game consoles would already be clocked from the factory…
instead of wrecking my case i just crammed it all into an old computer tower. it actually looked quite kewl. except for the fact the power button was kinda awkward sitting in the back of the case
There’s no means of making a jumper for the power button? All you need to do is fashion a positive and negative connector from the button.
more just never bothered to go through the hassle of doing that. It was enough of a fight trying to strech the disk drive cable, and glue on a face place to make it look good in the tower. plus fitting everything in. the button was the least of our worries.
I think somebody watched Apollo 13 too many times.
Agreed. I can’t blame the person. I love that movie. Nice solution, though. I wonder if this person put an LiOH canister in that filter? Nice kludge, overall.
Dude, you have a 360 slim.
This is entirely unessential.
It’s not an xbox slim. It’s an xbox elite.
That’s not a Slim. That’s an Elite model.
You can tell from the vertical USB cover, and the MU ports that were removed from the Slim model.
Plus the system doesn’t have that bend in the middle, it’s all flat, and it’s not a shiny black.
So this isn’t essential, but it is a major help with the model he has.
I totally don’t understand what is going on here.
ok correct me if im wrong but isnt the power button normally green not blue
Yes – it was green, but I hate green. So I made it blue
If that Xbox ever fails…
From the outside of the house (and by utility bills) this looks exactly like a grow room.
No, it doesn’t. It’s a window air conditioner. The cool air is just being directed onto the equipment rather than across the room. No extra power and just a standard window air conditioner in the window.
Awesome, sorta. I personally would have grabbed the nearest mini-fridge and stuffed my console inside, the only two downsides being that you would need to open the fridge to mess with the console itself (as cords can simply be put through the doorjam or something).
Thanks Maxaxle. I was thinking about doing the mini fridge idea, but the fridge looked weird next to the TV. I have since improved upon my design, using PVC pipes to split the airflow to both the GPU and CPU. It has been holding up quite nicely with the new games (COD black ops and Fallout)
For those of you who are as clueless as I was as to what this is about, look here:

Thank you!
nice idea except for some thing called condensation. unless you keep the humidity in the room practically at zero you will eventually get condensation in the system that could eventually cause a short out.
what if the game freezes now?
That looks really cool, I wonder if he has taken into account the fact that air that has been cooled beyond the ambient temperature will cause condensation, I.E small water droplets to form in the case. If you noticed that it is a 360 slim and are wondering why he would go to so much trouble wait until you are on your 3rd or 4th original xbox 360 and see if you still trust Microsoft when they say that they fixed the problem.
Yes, I was concerned about condensation, but it doesn’t seem to be an issue. I did keep a watchful eye on it to make sure there was no condensation in, or around the xbox.
And I’ll repeat – this is not an xbox slim. Just because it is black, doesn’t make it is a slim. lol. I bought this xbox about 3.5 years ago.
Well i know the 360 needs good ventilation, but isnt this over the top?
Really Chris? really? LMAO!!!!
how about if it is summer lol
