Yes, because now I’m suing you for using my name without permision.
The sandwich press can’t contain the samichy goodness of that magnitude.
So this is just overkill. Get a heavy, non flammable, non meltable object and pop it on top. A good coffee can or jar of water would hold it shut without these shenanigans.
Actually, these toasts are Croque-Monsieur, filled with ham and cheese, which have to be cut by the sandwich-press. This requires quite a lot of force, why I think, a coffee can would not be heavy enough. Thus the screw-clamps. If you do it, do it without mercy!
Yup, it really needs a lot of force. I store my sandwitcher (of similar fortune) along with at least one clamp.
