E-mail delivery right outside your house! – Frankie Fix-It
Favorite Comments: Moxie Man said, “Problem is, now he’s going to be inundated with many, many cans of Spam.” To which bob_super replied, “Don’t be curious about it, nobody expect a canning inquisition.” ducttapemom followed with “Unless someone decided to throw in some eggs. Then there would definitely be an inquisition into the ‘Spam and eggs.’” Then bob_super stated, “* beating myself for not writing Spammish inquisition *”
And finally, ducttapemom closed with, “Nobody expects the Spammish Inquisition!”

Classy! At least he found some use in that piece of..!
My in-laws only just upgraded their G3 to a mac Mini a month ago. I don’t know how they lived with only 10G of HD space for so long.
I really think this was a great idea. I should take their G3 and my snow iMac and make some great lawn art.
So what you’re saying is the Apples don’t fall far from the trees.
This mailbox is stuffed with WIN.

The problem is, it’s an old G3 – probably still running MacOS 9.2.2. Not much you can do with those, sadly.
The Blue & White G3 can run Mac OS X 10.4.11 Tiger. If upgraded with a G4 processor, it could run 10.5, if you retain some Tiger kexts or have a beta version of Leopard. With the G4 upgrade it can also run Final Cut Pro with a small patch to its installer.
And yes, it can run Mac OS 9.2.2 as well, natively or in classic mode under Mac OS X.
The hinged side panel access would make retrieving the mail easy, and it is lockable, though the Zip drive bay is pretty small for receiving mail.
I don’t think I’d want to see a G3 run Tiger. I *definitely* wouldn’t want to see a G3 running Final Cut Pro.
I also had Leopard on my QuickSilver G4 (733MHz) for a while. It’s…really not a good idea. Even on supported G4s, Leopard runs terribly slow compared to Tiger.
Finally, a good use for a Mac.
the kludge is leaving the yellow price tag on the scrap wood
Insert today’s AOL CD directly in the tray
(that’s as dated as the machine)
When I worked for an ISP we actually had someone call up and ask if he could sign up and have us print out his e-mail for him to come pick up every few days, as he had no computer.
That isn’t nearly as bad as the office manager I had who asked me to “print off a copy of the internet”- so he could read it later
And this would be the gruesome result:

This is either an Apple snob or a Valiant Mac Slayer!
It’s a warning to all Apples that venture near what fate they face who durst approach.
There be mac slayers ahead. We must be cautious!
I think I’ll stay PC and get my e-mail from the *inside* of my house.
Steve says the new fashion is to get e-mail the old fashion way! It’s the best way to show off your cool appleness to all around!
Who are you to argue? infidel!
WTF is this “white trash” repairs stuff? Other racial ethnic and religious groups jerry rig stuff too.
Because while some of the kludges here are clever, or even inspiring, most of them are Darwin Awards waiting to happen, and thus deserving of mockery. And when it comes to mockery, well…

Problem is, now he’s going to be inundated with many, many cans of Spam.
Don’t be curious about it, nobody expect a canning inquisition.
Unless someone decided to throw in some eggs. Then there would definitely be an inquisition into the “Spam and eggs”.
* beating myself for not writing Spammish inquisition
Nobody expects the Spammish Inquisition!
Hmmm… Do my eyes deceive me? A Monty Python quote?
*mental image of spam cans in cardinal robes* Fetching! It could be a new marketing campaign!
P.S. Bless you both, I needed that laugh.
Ding! You have snail mail!
not acceptable mail box if in united states as mailboxes are regulated & approved by postmaster general. usually ignored in rural areas.
You got I-mail .. not E-mail.
About the only thing that piece of garbage is good for
They should order a Windows installation Disc
I dare someone to find a better use for a mac
New from Apple: The iMailbox!
would it be highly overpriced, impossible to find applications for, and can not interface with other systems, as well?
That’s the best use of a Mac that I’ve seen in quite a while. He probably decided he wanted to play video games and got a PC.
