Best Monitor Stand Ever

It also functions a nice place for you LEGO construction dudes and dudettes to hang out, while you use a CAD program to come up with your next project for them. – Frankie Fix-It

Lego monitor stand would so rock! But why is the screen sideways?
im guessing its a 2 monitor set up
Because widescreen fails to meet the needs of those of us who work with primarily vertical compositions. Fortunately, turning the screen on its side fixes this issue.
But… isn’t a LEGO structure only as strong as its weakest stud?
When exactly is that not true?
The screen is sideways because he wanted a “portrait” layout, as opposed to the “landscape” that is standard. A lot of newer monitors sort of swivel so you can easily change them to portrait, but this works, too. I did something similar with k’nex and duct tape for my older lcd.
Cheap ones like this one don’t. Fixed plastic foot is a lot cheaper than the swiveling kind.
Heat dissipation when not facing the way it was designed may be fun!
That is the way to feel the athmosphere of “LEGOland” while laying on the bed and viewing it’s teasers!

While it’s legitimate for BENQ to try to catch Apple’s draft, their Ipad killer is still a bit too big and their proto stand not quite as smooth. Their target geeky audience will be delighted, but is it enough?
Spare legos are already being assembled by BENQ engineers to support a flash. Take that Apple!
This stand would go well next to the Lego computer case.

Not sure I would trust LEGOs to hold up any monitor, even a cheap one.
I would – Lego can be surprisingly strong. I own the lego kit 10179 – 10.7 kgs of lego supported by 7 feet. It’s amazingly strong.
This setup, however, looks dodgy. The pieces this person uses to steady the right-angles frighten me…
Use technical Lego, mate !
Exactly what I was going to say. Technic would be much stronger, with anticipatable load distribution and the ability to make incremental angles, as well as being much sleeker looking.
Obviously you’ve never stepped on one of those little mf’s-
LEGO Bricks – The unsung heroes of kludgeland.
Everyone talks about duck tape, cable ties, and bailing wire, but there’s little talk of LEGO bricks.
With LEGO bricks, you can disassemble the kludge when it’s no longer needed. If it’s going to be glued, don’t use LEGO bricks, use megabloks.
KNUDGE ‘N BUDGE!!!
“With LEGO bricks, you can disassemble the kludge when it’s no longer needed.”
You mean “Hide the evidence of your kludge, afterwards” ?
Yes. Recycle that kludge by reusing the parts therein.
they’re called MINIFIGS!!! not dudes and dudettes!!! get it right!!!
Sorry… I was raised by surfers.
LEGO of that monitor!
Lego of the remote!
That’s why i love LEGOs
Catch 22:
I need to go to BrickLink to buy some LEGO bricks to support the monitor, but I need to build a LEGO monitor support before I can go to BrickLink.
