It’s a tarp! – Ms. Fix-It
Favorite Comment: Fixer Scorpion451 says, “This pimperfish has been caught for tagging so that it can be tracked for information on its migration routes, feeding sites, and breeding grounds. The tarp is used to calm the pimperfish, as like birds they tend to become more tranquil when in darkness. Another pimperfish, presumably its mate, watches from the shelter of their shared den.”

Copy & paste this:

I bet the car was going to be repossessed, and they though this would prevent it.
The fence is electrified. lol.
wrong.
that’s a drive through.
Good thinking, the fencing will keep the rabbits and deer away.
That was my first thought, then I decided cats were more likely to damage a car.
Yup
cats were poking holes in the tarp, so the fencing keeps the cats off the puncture-free tarp.
Or porcupines.
Now I really want to know whats underneath that.
The poor car is naked. That’s why it’s hiding under the tarp. It’s trying to preserve just a little bit of dignity.
A pile of bricks stacked to look like a car. It’s to distract people from how sorry that Cutlass in the background looks.
Based on the shape – the length of the hood and the way the bumper sticks out, and the effort to actually protect it from the elements, I’m going to go with something worth having… Let’s say, a ’75 Grand Torino. “Starksy and Hutch”, anyone?
ah the holographic grid.
Or a wireframe.
What is so precious under that tarp? Anybody recognizes the silhouette?
Yes, it’s a car.
*hands Ahetma an Admiral Ackbar costume*
Will you put this on and say it again, please?
if it isn’t already, it’s beggin’ to be electrified. Win!

Ah, the beauty of nature.
The most likely consequence of this setup:
Someone, something, will cause the fence to collapse and scratch the crap out of the finish.
or he clued that blue thing and fight the wind
Blue tarp and wire fence was the government’s first failed attempt at stealth technology.
I’m guessing that once they plug the Somebody Else’s Problem Field Generator into that wire grid, the whole thing will disappear… providing that a blue tarp is at least as troubling as pink paint.
Brain the size of a planet and they’ve got me doing… oh nevermind, what’s the point? I’m not getting you down am I?
well done sir, well done. perhaps hotblack desiatos stuntship?
Based on the shape of the hood my guess is a new ford mustang. Maybe

The force field is down, so they had to use a fence instead.
It’s a car with a flux-capacitor in hiding.
Did KITT from Knight Rider get drunk and pass out at a party last night?
Tinfoil hat, pfft… I got a Faraday Coupe!
Take THAT, Smooth Jazz 97.3!
Well, of COURSE he had to construct a Faraday cage and conceal its awesomeness with a tarp when it’s not in use. The car is a total chick magnet!
That’ll keep the goats out!
I’m half expecting David Copperfield to come up and make this car disappear.
No, he’s trying to make a Faraday’s jail… or a Faraday’s fail…
Blue Tarp of Death?
Nothing up my sleeves, and yet, when I pull this tarp back…
*FWOOSH*
The car has disappeared! Thank you, thank you. And now, I put the tarp back, wave my hands, and…
*FWOOSH*
Uh. Well. This is embarrassing…
It’s a trick. Under the tarp is just a pile of junk. The actual car is behind it, in the garage.
I’ve seen this before! It isn’t about security. Here’s the deal:
In many counties you’re not allowed to have a car with dead tags parked in your driveway. Even covering it with a car cover or tarp isn’t good enough. But there’s usually an exception written into the ordinance: “unless obscured by plantings or a FENCE.”
The one in the carport is also surrounded by wire.
The wire keeps squirrels out when storing a vehicle long term. It should be close to the ground and snug all around the car. Otherwise, they will climb in under the hood and chew up wiring and hoses. God knows why. Maybe they just don’t get enough plastic in their natural diets.
I doubt this wire would keep squirrels out. I’d say they can probably fit through, and even if they can’t, they could just climb over.
With 2×4 welded wire, little squirrels might be able to squeeze thru. Probably not adults, tho. I can see where the front driver’s side isn’t tight to the vehicle. Vermin *could* climb over and squeeze thru there. It looks like a brand new application of cover. This guy is probably more scared of scratching the paint right now than he is of vermin. He might find he needs to risk a scratch and tighten it up a bit if he definitely wants to keep them out. It falls short of a garage (which he doesn’t seem to have) but, it’s better than nothing.
Building it high also helps protect the windshield from errant baseballs.
