There are other things here that seem unnatural. Is that green thing a Christmas stocking or an oven mitt? What is that weird blue hatlike thing next to the hose? What are those shapes in the depths of the pool?
What we’re looking at is a tear in the fabric of reality itself, from whence the Great Old Ones plan to return to this plane of reality for a really kickass pool party.

This is a great innovation; the user can flip on the light switch and use the spark to set the oil lamp on fire. This is the most efficiently destructive kludge to date, converting invention into disaster in mere seconds.”
AND: Fixer Blackmoore replies, “The flame from the oil wick then will heat the bulb, eventually shattering it, and spreading a mercury mist into the room; and glass (covered in mercury) to the floor. And then a OSHA hazmat crew will need to be called in to clean up the mess.”
