This is Rampart. Start an IV with D5W stat!!

      - I’m sorry, the PATA are just not reacting to our efforts.
      – You mean you want to give up just because it’s old? That’s not fair!
      – It will be ok. There’s no need to add more suffering. Just let it idle until the Blue Screen comes…

    • Blackmoore says:

      It still isn’t Lupus.

    • ThatDarnCat says:

Excellent Emergency reference. Should we call in 1A12 to secure the scene?

  2. Paddy says:

Maybe they wouldn’t need all that tubing if the fan sitting at the bottom of the tower doing nothing, were hooked up and running…

    • Dan says:

I believe it is plugged in, sometimes when you use the flash on a camera the shutter speed will be fast enough to make the fan look still.

      • Paddy says:

That’s true. But it looks like the fan is sitting on the bottom of the box, nowhere near a heat sink or even a vent.

        • Toddle says:

Wow… this post is so upsetting to me. Some people are jackasses. Why wouldn’t he just buy a $15 heatsink…. instead of using 50x the energy to cool his system.

    • MacMarty says:

Uh….. If that fan is plugged in, all it’s doing is sucking on the bottom of the case. No airflow worth mentioning.

  3. Craig S says:

Lets make sure we put this cooling system towards the back. We don’t want this thing to look too ghetto.

  4. rapljwop says:

As long as it has a stable overclock, it’s alright

  5. Ye Olde Devil says:

I don’t see a pump for that liquid.

Which begs the question: is this even fixed?

    • nordicfix says:

There is a pump in the bottom right corner, or am I mistaken? Clearly they can’t use the fan, because air flow is all messed up when the sides are open. Why are they open, you ask? This way the builder got his 5 secs in fame, nobody would post an ordinary tower.

    • Marvin says:

      Really? No pump?
What is that blocky device in the bottom-right of the image then?
It has 2 fluid pipe connections, one electrical connect, and really does not belong in a normal computer case.
Sure looks like a pump to me

  10. adfogg says:

If you really need your computer to run so fast that it needs this much extra cooling, you seriously need to GET A LIFE!

    • CK159 says:

Until it gets to the point where in IV of LN2 is required, I’d say it’s fine.

    • Blackmoore says:

If your computer is getting cooled to a reasonable temp with this set up you aren’t seriously overclocking. You’re compensating for a lack of temperature control in the room.

      • Rickster says:

First off, most forced air pc cooling systems don’t work worth crap with the cover off. Just putting it on might help the problem.

Second: >You’re compensating for a lack of temperature control in the room.

I think this dude is compensating for a lack of length/girth…

  11. imillard says:

Must be an AMD chip. Famous for overheating.

  12. sunrunner20 says:

There is a pump, it looks to be a Eheim 1250- Used on myself. However, its epic old- hasn’t been used in water cooling for 4+ years. Not to mention, the tubing is smaller than normal.

  13. coyote INFJ says:

Reusable ice packs? Pah!! Where’s the creativity in that. Bring on the dry ice I say!

Tired of being overclocked, under appreciated, and all of the empty promises of upgrades, the computer unfortunately felt the only way out was suicide…Jim Jones style.

  21. oh, WTH happened to this computer.

  22. Myko says:

Well, this is a pretty effective cooling system, but why is the fan at the bottom unplugged?

  23. Deastrumquodvicis says:

Infinite Improbability Drive–you’re doing it wrong.

  24. themaninthecpu says:

Quite possibly the dumbest idea ever. I mean, it was well intended, water cooling + cold water = cooler CPU. But there is one big problem cold water in the tubes will cause condensation. water and electronics do not mix well and the result is usually lots of smoke.

WHEN THIS COMPUTER CRASHES, WE WILL SEE SOMETHING SIMILAR TO THE Y2K!
