You see air conditioners. I see the most challenging parkour course this side of the Atlantic. – Ms. Fix-It

The open window indicates that the air conditioners aren’t sufficient. I’d recomend a few more.
Also, if my memory serves me, that blowing curtain can be secured with a sixteen penny nail driven into the plaster wall.
The opened window is to equilibrate the indoor high pressure generated by the 32 cooling units!
Early data center cooling technology.
So .. where’s the Prince of Persia? Altair? Anyone?
The graphics in this leaked screenshot of Mirror’s Edge 2 look amazing!!
Needz moar colored guide lines. And it needs to be about 100 ft higher in the air so you can be sure your death is truly brutal.
more is always better, right?
Like, more electric bills?
Yes, but with the batteries saved by the tenants disabling the smoke alarms, they are financially coming out ahead!!!!
I still think it’s shooped.
Most likely not. Walk through a neighborhood in most any city in China and you will see this. They are basically small window size A/Cunits that are sufficient to barely cool one room. difference being these are mounted on the wall and piped in. If the family is a “well off” they can afford the electricity to have an A/C unit for more than oen room of the house.
Yep, you see this kind of stuff all the time in southeastern China. Most factories do not have air conditioning, except some of the higher-ups’ offices. And those use wimpy air conditioners like these. The laborers have to toil on assembly lines in steaming-hot temperatures for a few dollars a day, to make all that stuff you buy at Walmart.
not for long…
Is it also common for the wall to be leaning towards the camera?
This is fun, they do this in Russia, where it is never actually warm outside. but because of communism, the heather goes on once a year, and off once a year. So it can be 40 degrees inside, and – 10 degrees outside (Celsius) so, governement fail…
This looks like many of the buildings in the more developed parts of China also. Its common because each family is allotted a set kit that comes with their apartment which might include 1 TV, 1 microwave, 1 refrigerator, and 1 window AC.
Wouldn’t you just open the window a crack?
If that’s really Southeastern China, then no.
Hmm… now I know what “parkour” means, thanks to Wikipedia. You learn something new every day – whether you want to, or not…
There are some things I learned on the Internet that I wish I could un-learn…
Like 101 uses for a turkey baster.
The first fifteen uses are legitimate time savers.
PHOTOSHOPPED
^ The correct term is photoSHOOPED.
I’m a-firin’ mah software!
I just came back from Hong-Kong and I can certify that it’s not. Actually, the most amazing thing is that you can see that everywhere through the island.
Why don’t YOU try and make a giant swastika out of air conditioners.
The ongoing fight against Building Barnacles…
This looks perfectly normal for China. Most of the time they use room air conditioners rather than central air. However, they use two-part units rather than window units. Thus you see one compressor for every room with an air conditioner.
Add in some inside rooms and you can get insane collections of air conditioners. I counted about 40 on top of a temple (I was in a position to look down on the roof) once.
the pattern looks like a wrongly made swastika
3rd World Cryogenics at it’s finest.
Hey what I do to keep my computer from overheating thanks to the ads on thereifixedit are none of your concern!
ads? what ads?
I dunno. I see Tetris. But I’m old-school.
You lose! The bricks have reached the top and you didn’t make a line.
The AC units are arranged in the most satanic way, Just look at them!
*breathing in air through clenched teeth*
That’s a pretty bad rash of air conditioning units the building has there! It seems to be spreading as well. Heat usually causes a breakout like this, and the condition is often difficult to treat. All we can do now is hope for cooler weather and/or the cost of electricity in the area to skyrocket.
I find it interesting that there is only one manufacturer of air-conditioners in this country (and it’s not ‘shopped, each one looks slightly different). Also, the people buy the exact same model even tho it clearly isn’t powerful enough to actually cool the air. Some rooms have multiple units installed in them.
These are outside units for multiple-unit systems. The pipes go through the wall to the unit indoors, potentially 100 feet away. Some of these can connect to a couple units inside. The hole in the wall is the size of the pipes only, so it’s a lot better than the window ones, and the unit in the room itself can be mounted on any wall you can reach with the pipes.
For historical reasons and flexibility, we have 5 of these at my house. They can also generate heat in winter if it’s not too cold/humid outside, and are very efficient.
kreeping hard
I always though that window air conditioners make a place look trashy. These guys have created a dream come true for me. I believe the clusters of units are not all going into the same room. They are probably being piped to interior rooms with no window.
That aside, I must restate my total approval of a complete absence of trashy looking window units. So cool.
And now we know why earthquakes are so deadly in some cities…
I was going to say standing beside that building would be VERY bad in an earthquake…
Blank Wall Solution: Electric Vine Wall
Where is this thing? I will go climb it.
As others have noted, just about anywhere south of Shanghai in China. Hong Kong is the best, as they also have REALLLLLLLLLY tall buildings!
That building has the worst case of parasites I’ve ever seen.
It’s Soviet Plinko!
-Starts to hum the Tetris song-
Challenging? Hell, I could climb up that stack of a/c units. That’s like the beginner route at the climbing wall…tons of handholds.
Note the humble air conditioner in its natural habitat, free from predators so it may live its life in its hive-community, free to reproduce as it pleases.
that has got to be the slowest game of tetris ever.
32 A.C. units 13 windows ????
Yes, my laptop froze for a while but I just kept clicking and I didn’t want it to overheat.
Fans of the series were diappointed when Ubisoft announced Assassin’s Creed 3 would take place in present day China.
Here we see the elusive A/C moss. It is indigenous to developing areas and, as you can see here, spreads quickly and unevenly across sides of buildings. Although, it is noteworthy that some rare species have been found to grow on motor-homes and even some trucks or cars. The moss develops a symbiotic relationship with humans. While the humans feed it electricity, the moss with in return cool the air surrounding it, something humans value in hotter climates.
well then lets just hope they dont divide by absolute zero
Just imagine being the air conditioning repair man!!!!!!
The Vicious Air conditioner units have mobilized! They latch onto host Buildings, sucking all the cold air out of the rooms containing the pool souls that the Units desire. Upon reaching full capacity, they focus all the rage in their cold, metal bodies and convert it to pure heat, incinerating everyone inside.
Does anyone else see a possible swastika?
Harry! Those strange looking creatures are attacking the outside of the building. Do something!
Ha! That does look like a fun parkour course, but maybe not so challenging.
Haven’t you folks heard of split-system air conditioners? Those units ain’t window units.
Alegedly, that apartment house ordered 3 building piercings, but got 63. Anyway I think that’s an excuse to tell its parents.
you are not by any chance active in the tattoo business?
” . . . . IT’S STILL TO F***IN HOT! F*** THIS WEATHER! F*** THIS PLACE! AND F*** YOU TOO B****!” Italian forplay
The electricity reader on that building must look like the Griswold’s around Christmas time.
“Hey! Close that window! I’m not paying to air condition all of Morocco here!”
…I repeat… we are under attack!
And here we see a flock of air conditioners perched on the side of this apartment complex. Migratory creatures, they travel south to their breeding grounds every summer before returning north each winter.
Funny that they all appear to be the same brand.
I can imagine a slimy mossy growth in the parking lot underneath from the drainage or all these units…
Hey, that looks like Russia!!!
swastika fail
Actually, it looks like an easy parkour, that is if the ACs are well fixed to the wall of course.
Is it just more or do the air conditioners actually make a very rough and approximate swastika?
Something over on the left has startled these shy one-eyed aircon units. See how they all glance over in terror at the imminent threat.
They make a special paint to keep those from getting established.
Ah, crap. Why is there never a long, straight piece when you need one?
Jus me or does that look like a shwastika??
Im jus sayin!
is it just me or they’re positioned in a form of Svastika?
I know why they need so many air conditioners – some stooge on the third floor has their window open…
I’d like to see the extension cords on the other side.
Space invaders!
I guess they just need to keep themselves cool
I see…..a repairmans nightmare.
My Russia again)))
To the embarrassment of the Nazi dorm, yet another freshman swastika fail.
