The Kids Have Been Quiet For Over An Hour…

If I learned anything from Calvin and Hobbes, it’s that silent children are a terrible sign. – Ms. Fix-It

Oh, I’m sure Shaun White had a few broken arms before he won some golden medals.
Yeah but I’m sure he did not break any arms or legs by training on jury-rig equipment. I’m pretty convinced he’s a lot wiser than that.
No, he just has better sponsors. Jethro here is going to the 2014 Winter Olympics sponsored by There, I Fixed It.
Correction. Winter Paralypmics.
what has this picture got to do with snowboarding, shaun white or the winter olympics?
Just run with it, alright?
The jokes don’t write themselves, they throw themselves in front of a bus full of joke writers.
sliding down steep curved surfaces.
Actually, TheAnitCat is right.
Well, at least the kid is wearing knee, elbow and wrist pads. Safety first.
But sadly, no helmet =P
No big loss if you look at the construction.
the construction is fine theres a reason they are called ghetto quaters its because they are ghetto. you can build ghetto anything check out the wall of death in the video below:
thats why he is about to be taken out of the gene pool
if he’s going on that he has no brains to protect
What elbow pads? I only see wrist pads. He’s holding one of his hands on his one elbow.
excellent recycling kludge, using available materials. do his parents have an organ donor card for him? might as well complete the circle of life with some more recycling.
oblivious troll is oblivious
someones been doing a lot of halo 3 forge
Takeoff seems assured, albeit bumpy. What about the landing? After all that work, I like a little water to quench my palette.
I await the accompanying video on Failblog.
Please, if there’s a God on the Internet, please let there be video.
Oh my God, I’m hopin’ and prayin’ and crossing my fingers…
No doubt this will be a short but instructive stunt session.
4 stars for building effort. Yikes, I am scared to see the after photo.
Liability insurance not included.
Obviously bikes without ramps are completely unpalletable!
Looks like something I’d do as a kid…
Which organs or appendages are you missing?
I completely agree…. this seems like something i would try and pull off and then end up in the hospital….. hense why instead of my file being in with everyone elses my was up front in the desk every weekend and holiday…. lol

What I wanna know is what they’re going to launch and where they’re going to get the JATO to attach to it!
It would be a win if there wouldn’t be holes in the wood stacks
…Or if the wooden stacks were stable and attached to each other by something more than the force of gravity.

Would you care to wet your pallet with something red?
Well put.
This thing is VERY dangerous and should be dismantled right away! Look at how easily high heels can get caught in there, that’s a real public safety hazard!
This is a joke, right? Someone is going to get hurt if you keep this up. Seriously, no more skidding around!
“Key kid, hold my beer and watch this”
… kinda confused as to why this is a reply… it should be at the bottom \/
Well, first I through skateboard wheel caught fail, but then i saw the BMX bike, and thought… well, at least it’s softer than facepanting a cement ramp… of course, more splinters, slicing, and slivers a few inches deep, but less broken bones.
Oooh, I can hardly stand the mental image.
I guess I’m hoping there won’t Be video of this thing’s first use — or try-out.
There’s a second bike handle, now that you led me to notice the first one. So one, if she moves fast enough, can ride for help. Or at least leave the scene and later deny all knowledge….
Tony Hawk, eat your heart out!
I’m thinking more about the poor guys who come back to work at the loading dock on Monday morning, and have to dismantle the whole freakin’ thing.
Four time forklift halfpipe world champion’s coach signs wind conditions prior to the second run of the Slickpoo Open.
There… last pallet… now that looks perfectly safe. You guys ready to bet your life on this with me??? Ok lets go!
Having been a *more than* slightly brainless child with a BMX bike, I have tried a rather similar stunt. Shockingly enough, that is not how I snapped my right tibia and took the knee out.
I did that in roller derby as an adult with *supposedly* more brains, or at least having insurance that is independent from my parents.
You ever take the forklift off any sweet jumps?
What a great Road Runner trap, except you forgot the birdseed, kid.
The real kludge is that the ramp is holding up that wall. They’re just getting a little creative to make it extra dangerous
Should’ve stuck it to the wall with Duct Tape.
Wow, just wow! Good job on construction. Using a combination of friction and weight to keep it in place. Should be good for a few runs with a bike.
The other wow is the know it all, we are all arm chair engineers commenting. Maybe these kids should be knocking off drug stores, knocking up teenage girls, or doing meth. Nope, they are actually building something and gaining skills not only in engineering, but in physical fitness. It is too bad there is so much of a heavy does of loser pessimism. That is okay, they will be running the industries in a few years and won’t look at what is probable, but at what is possible.
Dude, I used to ride all the time, and worked as an engineer for the last 4 years, and I gotta say…. impressive though it may be, I wouldnt touch this quarter-pipe-of-death with a 60 foot barge pole
Yeah, but I know you would be there to youtube the result with your camera? Or funniest videos? From a engineering perspective it is not that bad. It will not last, but hey they are probably doing at some business on the sly. Hopefully nobody sues the business for an attractive nuisance.
Also, working as an engineer kind of eliminates most engineers from trying riding stuff that is actually built well much less what they built. No? I know I wouldn’t touch it with my blades. Too many gaps! A bike would be much “safer”.
What? Pallets are free!?
we made one similar once and was great fun until you crashed and tried to put your hands out-resulting in fingers going between the planks of wood.. ouch
That’s right kid what goes up does come down. Nobody said it had to be in one piece though…
Looks like it would work great, going up – at which point everything above the last one you thumped would sorta follow you down. Perhaps his parent never taught him the words to old, irrelevant nursery songs like “Jack and Jill.”

Tony Hawk’s childhood days…
I realize this is an inspiration for the Emergency Room; however I am just too impressed.
Awesome rampage!
Smooth on-ramp, ideal curvage, high enough to….
trap your BMX wheel when you turnabout at the top.
Rider falls off trapped bike.
Bike (still jammed in gaps in pallet), tips and drags it all down.
Whole stack collapses into kindling.
Wow, fun!
I think its how the vertical top pallets look ready to fall off at any time, plus the lack of real width to test it out on, which make me the most twitchy…
another way to play jenga, with BMX!
Hell yeah! My kind of kids!
See, this is what happens when people take video games too seriously. They must be playing Halo 3 too much.
aham…..so that’s MacGyver’s kid……..cool
Gmod gone real! SHWEET!
As a skateboard ramp this is a total fail, I mean come on! How are they gonna get up there?
as a skate ramp indeed fail but as a BMX or mountainbike ramp it is without a doubt a WINNER
epic win
