Well, at least you can hold the blade with your hand, and only letting it go the switch is on and your arm is cleared – more than once I’ve turned on a fan while holding the blades in place, it’s completely safe since the motor doesn’t have enough torque to overcome your own strength.

But trying to hold when it’s already spinning, well, that’s a whole different story.

I would think that even in a commercial setting this fan would still only be safe for 10 feet of clearance. having it in a commercial setting doesn’t magically enhance it’s safety

That is actuall a line load-bearing thermostat. Room gets warm to set temp fan automatically kicks on.
