You can usually fix this by simply tightening the screw on the hinge. Actually getting to that screw and putting the laptop back together is another matter.

Seriously, my son and I were discussing getting his older laptop repaired for this exact problem. By the time he sends it to Dell, buys the parts pays the labor, pays shipping both ways, it’s almost makes more sense to save up a little more money and invest in a new one. I emailed this to him as a viable short term fix until he can afford the new one. Brilliant. Like Chicken Soup for a cold…It couldn’t hurt.
