Wow. Is this supposed to be a fix for a crutch or a shovel. Shovel I guess.

yup kids, I got this in ‘Nam.
Now a busted leg is no excuse to get out of doing yardwork.
The worst part about this kludge is that it would actually be terrible for shoveling. There’s no way you could balance the load correctly on the end, and you’d keep dumping it left or right after you tried picking it up.
Especially with the broken leg!

Don’t show that thing to highway administration workers…we don’t want to make it any easier for them to lean on their shovels.
A two handed shovel that neatly fits the waist for pushing off the snow so the shuffle board surface is clean enough to play on. Reverse the implement and let the games begin.

This looks like a good idea to me especially when I would need to to push the shovel along the ground to scoop something up. The curved handle would be much easier on the hand than the end of the usual handle.
That’s a lame excuse for a shovel.

Looks like a DIY ice shovel, or a sodding shovel. The wide, padded end would make forcing the blade horizontally under the sod (or ice) easier. You could really put your hip into it! I’d use it for moving patches of lawn.
Yeah, like “private, I don’t care your fragged leg, take this veteran shovel and dig us a goddamn trench!”
