Okay, what safety inspector deserves to loose their job? And how many people deserve honorable mentions in the Darwin awards for getting near that thing?
Well, OK, but there’s probably a huge steel pillar in that mess, and whatever architect / ride designer didn’t want a bare column visible (not obscured by slides, anyway). Discuss.
Come on people, are you all really that gullible? I would bet considerable money that the rocks are just a faҫade hiding a rather substantial steel bracing or support underneath. Have you never been to Disneyland, Six-Flags, Busch Gardens, or any of a hundred other theme parks where such sights are COMMON PLACE?
The rock facade is obviously hiding a 2 ft thick steel disk which is welded to a SOLID steel core column extending 100′ into the hill. Probably doesn’t even need to be stabilized at the top of the hill either. P.E. signoff-STAMP.
I never did understand how “lose” came to be such a commonly misspelled word… If you speak the language everyday it should be pretty easy to learn how to spell.
“Hey, Bob, you’re never going to believe this. I convinced the new employee that a pile of rocks is the only thing holding up the toboggan ride! He’s leaning against the pylon right now and pushing for all he’s worth! I told him to stay there while I go get help. You get some mayo from the concession stand, I’ll get some feathers, and I’ll meet you on the platform above him.”
I spent a good couple of minutes searching that image on the RSS feed looking for the kludge. Then finally came here to read everyone confirming what I discarded straight away.

i know! and who would let there children on that
Hopefully the inspector loses his job, and doesn’t just loosen it. I hate those loose jobs floating around…

Where’s the kludge? Anyone? Bueller? Ferris?

Agreed. This isn’t a kludge. It’s just designed to look like a kludge. Safety regulations for amusement parks are RIDICULOUS.
How do you “loose” a job, anyway?
when you get vacations!
Ask David Beckham.

This could be in Thailand and it could be a bunch of landscaping stones.

Not a kludge. Please remove.
Yeah, remove. 99.9 percent sure there’s a massive steel bar encased under the rock.
Is there a “submission fail” button?
I would think it was a kludge, If it looked like it was slanted. Which it doesn’t.
+1 for removal for non-kludgyness
Worst.
TIFI.
Ever.
Does no one moderate these pics? I stared at this for ages looking for a sign of duct tape
