Exactly, I shower with about 4 gallons and have to heat it up in a boiler beforehand. I'm stuck with that until we install the well pump kit. I've put an heating infrared light on the ceiling so it's quite pleasing even if you have to turn the water off to soap up.

I won't talk about my light-switches operated filled by the jug washing machine...

we used one like this for 10+ years. we call it ASTRONAUT SHOWER because that's where we got the idea. i didn't like it because the shower curtain tends to kling to you and it is cold. we didn't have a frame. we hung the curtain from the ceiling and simply rooled it up and stored it inside the tub which we tucked away when not in use. we used a small hose hooked to the faucet and a adjustable pattern stream sprayer. we used the graywater in the garden.

Unlike the above setup I do have regular water supply and floor drain access but I am floor space challenged. I would like to have a removable plastic tub maybe with a whole for water to flow out of the basin via a hose near the bottom of the pan that I can place in the floor drain hole so water can continue to run without filling up the tub. At the end of the shower just remove the tub to regain access to the needed floor space. This small shower space is between the outside bathroom wall and the open kitchen area with no wall. This complex shower space also triples as an entry way to the living room. Obviously I can't leave the tub in this showcase space. The tub need not be very tall but wide enough not to trip on the sides. Sorta' like a small baby wadding pool with that I can drill hole in the side for drain hose.Ideally if the tub were half moon shaped made with a hing so I could pull it up to stand against the shower head wall and then pull it back down into place to re-use. Anyone knowing of such a tub or work around tub please get back to me.

This actually sounds like a really logical approach to dorm design. I'm Canadian, so I can't even guess as to where this was. So I must ask, where was it?
