  1. leedsb says:

Is that Molson Export? Leave it to the Canadians, eh!

  2. KC/CC says:

This is the most practical thing I’ve seen here in a while. Also, kudos for clean lines and close access to the garden hose. Probably it could qualify as a feature in a shelter magazine. Well done!

  3. Rehevkor says:

It doesn’t matter how much you water them, they’re not going to grow any bigger.

  4. Piku says:

A photo guaranteed to wind up every obsessive-compulsive that sees it.

    The bottles… they’re not straight!
    :-)

  5. Pat says:

That’s nothing. One time we had a party in a snowstorm and just stored all the beer in the snow.

  6. Jompe71 says:

    Is this a kludge?
I’d put it in the same category in in life must have experiences:
crawling, walking, school, driving, learning how to cool beverages…

  7. husabob says:

are these twist off caps, or are they gonna need that kludged wooden stick/bolt opener? Grab one, open it, take a swig, and dribble trough water all over yourself… fun.

  8. Toni04 says:

So this is what happened after that over turned beer truck accident.

  9. Sarge says:

That’s actually a fairly practical way to cool off all that beer. I estimate that there’s around 200 bottles of beer in that planter. (To hard to count all those little bottle caps. Anyone have a larger resolution of this shot?). These people obviously didn’t have a fridge that could handle this many bottles, so kudos to them. I would have dumped a bag of ice on top, though. Tap water isn’t really all that cold.

    • Mike says:

I’m guessing that the water you see there is melted ice. There doesn’t seem to be an easy way to get the water out.

When I worked in food service, this is how we got bottles of coke cold, and customers continually told us that they were coldest cokes ever.

  10. Manuel says:

for ref, I think this is the belgian Beer “Jupiler”

  11. stanley says:

Lets just hope it’s not mistaken for the public urinal while the beer is still there. Would suck to be late to the party then.

  12. JB says:

What was it before becoming a beer cooler? A flower pot?

  13. Tebo says:

    One word: WIN!

  14. erkkilaron says:

150 bottles of bear in the tank
    150 bottles of beer,
Take one out pass it about
149 bottles of beer in the tank,

  15. bug says:

judging by the bottle caps at the bottom, this wasn’t their first time doing this.

  16. Paddy says:

Any moment now, we’ll see the feral frat boys gather around their feeding trough…

  17. Augustus says:

But they’ll drink the beer instead…

  18. david wayne osedach says:

What a beautiful picture! Takes the place of the Mona Lisa as far as I’m concerned.

  19. Chiel says:

I submitted this before. Didn’t got accepted then, or it’s actually this one.

It’s the backyard of one of my street neighbours, I can link to more pics if you want

  20. Daniel says:

Safety Rules: Put the empty bottle back in its place. Otherwise the drunkards drown.

  21. Andy says:

You can lead ‘em here, but then you’re going to have to lead them to the bathroom, and then to the car, and then to the hospital…

  22. Rich says:

I get it… the weird part is that the let the ice melt, right? Right?

  23. Dave says:

This is the greatest discovery of all time! The fountain of youth really does exist!

  24. Thomas says:

I don’t see how this is a kludge.

This is just creative party hosting.

  25. Hates Photoshop says:

I counted 146 bottles. Cant be sure about that number but I am close.

  26. Bridge says:

Mother won’t be happy that you dug up her roses for this…

  27. 9Squirrels says:

It’s not truly “epic” though is it? I mean, the bottles all seem lined up in a square formation, that’s not efficient, they could probably have got a few more bottles in with a hexagonal arrangement… :)

    • The Cat says:

      Aren’t hexagons great?

    • Bah says:

Take a closer look. It appears to me that we are looking at only the top layer of beer bottles. They are resting on the shoulders and between the necks of a second layer. Though the hex packing is the most efficient for a single layer, it may not leave enough room to stack a second layer in this manner.

    • Leo Lichtman says:

A hexagonal pattern puts the bottles closer together, but at the edges you wind up with wasted space (where half a bottle would fit.) This arrangement is all edges, so hex won’t work.

  28. Wolfen says:

And here we wait at the local watering hole, not knowing what sort of wildlife we might see, but it does seem to attract all sorts. Hopefully we will capture a shot of the wild creature Drunkis Phrat Boyis.

  29. nimrod says:

John was in a bind, his mortgage was underwater and he was down to his last 500 bucks. There had to be something that would substantially increase the value of his house…

  30. MacKludger says:

No that the bulbs are planted, we wait for germination and in 3 to 4 months, you should have a beautiful flowing beer garden!

  31. CFRAh says:

Are those Diet Cokes? Stay away mentos!!!!

  32. Trent says:

HAH! GENIUS! Its a beer garden!
