Favorite Comment(s!): Fixer Badgirl says, “A pressing defrost emergency?”
AND, for being a nerd after my own heart: Fixer Rich says, “I don’t think this is what the D&D guys meant when they said “damage reduction 5/cold iron.”

Do I use “Cottons” or “Permanent Press” on R-134a? And Steam might speed it up…
(Actually, this isn’t too bad safety wise. The melt water will drain away, and that aluminum evaporator plate won’t melt.)
it’s too late, my mum was defrosting yesterday…
Brilliant stuff. There is nothing I hate more than wrinkly ice.
‘Cause if you keep the iron in warm for too long, it’s gonna rot.
As long as the water dripping down doesn’t short it out…
Hey, it’s better than a hairdryer!
real men use a bolster and 2lb lump hammer…
Only when they need a good excuse to go buy a new fridge – {Pssssss!!!}
You can only let the Magic Gas out once.
Ice Age 2: The meltdown…
2 for 1. defrost your freezer AND geet your delicates nice and smooth.
A pressing defrost emergency?
The shirt ironing project was put on ice for the day!
I did exactly this once, though I used the ‘hot rock’ from my turtle’s terrarium.
If I were this guy’s electric company, I’d send him a voucher for a free steak dinner in thanks for raise he gave me by doing this.
I don’t think this is what the D&D guys meant when they said “damage reduction 5/cold iron.”
You make me happy
Thats the coolest iron that I have ever seen
Cold steel? Will iron do?
This is the Housewife equivalent to the bachelor leaving the remote in the fridge.
This works until the machines work out their differences and join forces against *us*!
This is not defrosting the fridge, this is cooling down the iron.
better empty the water tray soon, or they’ll need to squeeze the wet-vac in as well
Back in my day, we put the iron on the stove.
Did you have to walk uphill both ways to and from the stove?
Suddenly the tiny light bulb fizzled above Elmer’s head, and the idea for the redneck steam room was born.
He only used the hottest thing around for the job. Thank god he wasn’t a welder.
Flat ice is better for holding pizzas.
It’s a dorm sized fridge…how long would it take to unplug it and defrost the freeze?
Longer than the 30 minutes they let you have a moving cart (if you’re lucky) once they tell you to get your crap out at the end of the semester. And dear old Dad doesn’t want it melting in the van. Because, really, how many nerds actually prepare for move-out day (aside from me)?
What self-respecting dorm resident has an iron?
Lol, I went to college in the 70′s and I don’t think we had irons and no tiny fridges either. Dad had one in the Bar at home though. I recall the only things we took home at semeseter’s end were the important things…bongs etc.
In Europe that’s not a dorm fridge, that’s their idea of full size. Which is why they buy milk in pints/500ml instead of gallons/4L, shop every day, and can’t stock up when there are sales.
(HINT: The packaging & shipping costs you more than the contents when you get too small.)
The typical US full-size fridge with 17 or 21 cubic feet, they’d try to move in every summer.
My father-in-law put a tool in the freezer because warmed due to the fact that the engine performed little power
Having had to defrost my own fair share of similar freezers I’m only sad that I didn’t think of it myself.
Hey! I want frozen steamed veges! Or was it steamed frozen veges?
I always wondered what that blue D stood for on my iron.
I just noticed. Are those fire extinguishers on the bottom shelf?! Can you refrigerate fire extinguishers?
I’ve seriously thrown a running hair dryer in the fridge before, but took it out when the ice melted all over it. Makes perfect sense.
Don’t hit the steam shot button, or you’ll have to start over.
I used to do this all the time in the Marines. If I wake up on Friday morning realizing I forgot to defrost the freezer for inspection. It works in a pinch.
