Wish my town had funds to blow.
After the break: Chaotic weather causes a widespread blackout, although only one pole was damaged in this strange incident. Authorities say that power will be restored in a day’s time. In other news, a truck driver has been arrested for dangerous driving. He blames his passenger for screaming “I told you to look where you were going!” at him, distracting him, while he was driving.
Lame. This truck is built to do this.
Yep. That pole’s not even in bad shape. I’ve seen them do this with poles busted off by a car hitting it until they can get a new one set next to it.
Pull a little more…
OK! Release it!
“SLANG”!
That all of this wires notching fµcking racoon!

Oh sure, if this weren’t in front of a federal building they’d just prop it up with a 2 x 4.
Yep, it’s a standard Digger Derrick. The pole guide tongs are designed to do just that.
Wait trucker, the pole is just going to drop a heavy letter to the local electricity supplier about transforming his job.
I’m gonna have to say that this is, technically, not a Kludge. That truck is purpose-built to do just what it’s doing in the picture, so this doesn’t meet the definition of “Kludge”
It just looks kludgy.

Here we see the mother transformer caring for her young…
Because when the submitter is clueless, everything looks like a kludge.
It was then that Antonio Entatzio Pisa realized that the family curse would no longer allow him to continue his work with Ameren.
“I said no!” she cried, the pole leering with anticipation.
Don’t get it wrong: the pole is actually holding up the truck.
A good lineman knows how to improvise. Nothing to see here, folks. They were probably waiting for another truck to bring a replacement pole so the transfers could be made.
This is actually an optical illusion. The truck’s brakes are out and the pole is keeping it from sliding into traffic.
