Copy & paste this:

Nobody will be able to steal the tree.
I’m pretty sure this is the wrong way to remove an unwanted tree.
This is a first time car owner who just hung up his bike
Cars hug too.
Looks like they ran out of boots in Detroit.
Somebody swap my bike for a clunker!
This is to keep the dumb blond from getting towed.
They can take my Toyota, but they’ll never take my suspension!
That´s a Volkswagen.
That’s an anti-theft or a DIY chainsaw?
Hook up a giant chain to the rim of my Geo, place chain around stupid tree blocking my view & give the engine the Wide Open Throttle Rodthroapalooza treatment. What could go wrong?
…let me count the ways
Actually, a 3 cylinder Metro would make a one helluva chainsaw!
Damn treehugger.
Beat this if you can, tornado.
I don’t think tornado’s need any encouragement.
Urban plant life takes a stand against greenhouse gas emissions
How bad of a neighborhood do you have to live in that you’re forced to do this?
Blonde: I told you not to pee again on trees.
i hope there’s a reminder note stuck on the steering wheel. probably lent to him by the local alignment shop.
why the hell would anyone want to steal a tree anyway
First they were “just friends”, but it quickly escalated to a deep relationship. Now they are inseparable…
I could just imagine the owner coming back, finding the car is missing, but the tire is still chained to the tree.
The chain appears to be connected around the strut or other part in that area. The chain used is really weak anyway. This looks like it was set up just for posting a picture.
Considering this picture was taken in Brazil, I think it was a genuine attempt to keep the car from being stolen.
@ Brazilian: You guys really are laid back. In some parts of the US, they’d take the car, chain and the tree.
Helping that tree grow straight is an excellent use for that clunker now that the cash program’s over with!!
Bolt cutters are a dime a dozen dude.
What a waste of chain.
Seriously dude, would you steal this?
if they park much closer to that tree, i see a Coke bottle mirror in their future
like
no need for a hand brake
Someone stole his bike in 3rd grade, he vowed it would never happen again.
Do they have a remote start and keyless entry system on their bike?
i feel so proud for being brazilian to seeing such of these things
Further to Quark’s comment. If the thief jimmies the trunk, he gets access to the spare and jack, so it could happen: i.e., wheel still there, car gone.
Now that will make anyone think twice before trying to steal that tree
Its the Hungarian version of this:

I always get kind of pissed off that the blind are able to bring their seeing eye cars into the store and I have to chain mine to a tree when I go in.
win
Agreed… win!!
Especially when I realize that most of the people in traffic with me are using “seeing eye cars”!
lo-tree
Every year around the holidays, a few car owners refuse to arrange a place to stay for their car or take it to the impound, and instead chain it to a tree on the side of a road.
Never mind the ineffectiveness of this as an anti-theft. Think of the inconvenience. I don’t think you can set this up without a couple stains on your shirt and arms.
Absolute classic !! This looks like something Mr. Bean would come up with ! You have to wonder why the person would think their car was even worth stealing !
well he had parked his bike there went into the store and came back to this….
This looks like a cruel roommate prank to me. I wonder how much of their food you have to eat to deserve this?
This might be the Borg car that Sue was talking about back on the “Dashboard Confessional” kludge. It got assimilated, and now it’s trying to assimilate the tree.
Sadly, that´s a leash…
Oregon boot!
Explanation: that’s a VW Gol, the most stolen car in Brazil. Also the best-selling one since Reagan’s second term. So, when you park your Gol, you can’t throw a stone without hitting another one. A thief comes by, sees two Gols, and which one will he steal? The one without the chain, of course.
Oh, and it’s worth protecting. Used-car depreciation here tends to be painfully slow, so the car is actually worth something.
Saw this on http://ghettoredhot.com too. Funny as shhh.
