Sorry kids, we had to use one of your gifts to support the Christmas tree.
Boys, if we use the right fertilizer, by the next year we will have a full lego tree.
I need to swipe some Legos from a neighbor’s kid. Why don’t they sell replacements for the table top trees? Oh yeah…cause I paid a buck for the tree to begin with!
I know the gifts go under the tree but this is carrying it a bit too far.

This “LEGO Technics no.4351″ could have done without that special part which looks like a broken christmas tree foot.
I wonder if they rebuild it every year, or if they put the whole assembly in the closet.

Makes you wonder why they used a real tree instead of just making one out of legos.

Ah, so THAT’S who had our excellent, if ancient, 4’6″ plastic tree after the leg broke and we decided (stupidly ;D) to go all-natural from then on. Mighta known it wasn’t just thrown away. Mother can’t be trusted to chuck anything properly on the landfill – if there’s a chance it can be reused, she’ll foist it on some poor unsuspecting charity shop.
Good to see it had a happy ending this time.
…wonder if they got the wonderful ;,( shiny-plastic-flower blinkenlights that went with it, and bodged those to keep running somehow too…
PS, sooner random bits of Technic (finally it has a true purpose besides mutating trucks and purely random mechanisms… it’s Baby’s First Kludge, really) escaping and ending up under your feet, than endless bloody pine needles that get progressively drier and harder and hang around until february.
What we don’t see is the Erector Set lights and ornaments.
They probably have a lite-brite on top in the shape of an angel or star!

HOLY CRAP!! that just proves the line between genius and insane is often blurry.
It may be a blurry line, but it makes a great jumprope.
The line is blurry because geniuses look around at this extremely non-genius-friendly world and go insane. We don’t start out that way, I promise. Crazy, I mean.

Not anymore. I wish they did though, they were the reason that I have about 80,000 legos lying around in a box somewhere.
My boy and I built something similar one year.

Ahhh, the effects of global warming. We’re now building our own Christmas trees to simply represent an extinct representation of Christmas. Maybe Santa will put some acid rain in our stockings!
He’ll just give us a lump of coal and wait for us to burn it.
