Manual windows? Naaah! My last hobby car was a really neat '67 Galaxie 2door hardtop that was a real blast to drive with all windows down, but it was manual windows. There was no way to reacjh all the way across the car to the opposite side handles, so I useds to haveto pull off the Interstate or street, unbuckle my seat belt and slide over to the passenger side if it started to rain, or if I just wanted to raise or lower them. Now I used to own a '90 Mitsubishi hatchback with manual winders, but the car was so no big deal. I say make 'em all power winders standard equipment. No de-evolution or backsliding.

HA! I grew up in a long line of VW's named after Peanuts characters. With 2 kids, you'd think we would have managed to break one or two handles, but we never did. Must be a "guy" thing. I wish I had a picture of the VW bug (can't remember what year) my mom kludged into a micro-camper by removing the passenger and rear seat. Anything that didn't fit in the space behind the seat and under the hood, went on the roof-rack. We traveled from OH to CA and back. When it started leaking, she drilled a hole in the floor and put a bathtub plug in it. She had to have the driver's side door welded shut because the hinge broke. When she went to trade it in, the guy offered her $50 to get it off his lot.
