This is like, so common place, you can’t even really call this a kludge!
It’s a crummie (crew truck), and a picker truck.
That makes it a crumb-picker, I guess.
First they had it hauling tractors, now it’s hauling logs. Where will it all end?
The compactor, hopefully!
It’ll get a job hauling *other* buses to the crusher. Then, one day, It won’t be able to live with itself and it will throw itself in. Sad, really…
with hauling a Airbus A380
Sadly, the Magic School Bus had trouble finding a new job after the show was cancelled
Actually, the frames of old school buses are quite versatile. My family are farmers and we once put a silage wagon on a school bus frame – worked great. I could easily see it being used for things like this.
If the logs from the sawmill are on the school bus, then the kids must be at the…. Oh God!
OMG! I laughed so hard! That picture in my head is so fitting for what I’m going through right now. *wipes tears off face and shirt*
so wrong, yet HILARIOUS.
XD
Somebody is taking recycling their old vehicles bit too seriously.
This is like some kind of enviro paradox…you recycle a bus destined to sit in some guy’s bushes forever and recycle it…to aid in clearing forests.
Nimrod FTW
Loggers ride the shortbus. I guess that confirms the brain vs braun theory.
Talk about being “green”
This is just a crew cab pickup truck taken one level higher.
I’ve been pineing away to go to a good logging school. Is it near a beech with some good ash?
I don’t know if I want anyone who shows up to work on a short bus, using a chainsaw or axe around me…
The only kludge I see is the transmission oil cooler mounted external in front of the radiator. Well done
That’s where the Tranny cooler is on my Ford. Then again, Tranny’s (sic) & Fords are epic kludges themselves.
What once carried loads of tree-hugging hippies to places like San Francisco and DC in the late 60′s now carries loads of tree-killing loggers and their victims to and from the forest.
It’s lo-og, it’s lo-og, it’s big, it’s heavy, it’s wood!
It’s lo-og, it’s lo-og, it’s better than bad, it’s good!
Ren & Stimpy. Thanks for the memories!
It’s just your run-of-the-mill school bus.
The operator is obviously a meticulous, steady, craftsman. I have never seen such a vehicle that has a hydraulic grapple loader in which nearly all the windows are not busted out or severely damaged. The cab doesn’t even have dents. (if you have ever run such a rig, you would know that just one slip of the wrist means that metal gets bent, at which time kludge handiwork comes into play)
It’s cheaper than a crew-cab truck!!! The farmers around here in Florida use old school buses cut off at the bottom of the windows to haul watermelons.
This jerk was hauling ass down my road the other day. We see him driving around quite a bit. Not at all surprised to see him on here.
This guy is just a good entrepreneur ,,,,he picks up kids in farm land area and asks their dads’ if they want wood for their fireplace…besides it makes for better traction in the snow
The school district is getting picky about maintenance logs.
