I’ve heard about the new Istop… the USB cable is too short

    • Phage0070 says:

Well, it is only too short if you don’t have a USB port nearby. Why Apple seems to be the only one to put them on the keyboard is a mystery to me.

  2. corrupt says:

what you don’t see is that the LAPTOP is propping open the window.

    Introducing the iDoorStop!

  4. necronomikron says:

Finally, a use for those damn one button mice.

  5. Duir says:

only thing a mac is good for is doorstop

  6. NeoPhoenixTE says:

    good lord..

…anyone else wanna try shutting the door just to hear the satisfying crunch?

  7. This Apple ain’t keepin’ the doctor away…

  8. Erik Shultz says:

You could use the cord to trip people, just because!

  9. Chris Wanja says:

Play off on the title: At least, if it did prop open Windows, it would work better than Windows its self.

  10. K says:

Oh good an Apple mouse that’s good for something

  11. N says:

Well, they don’t call it the MightyMouse for nothing, apparently.

  12. Evan says:

This is mouse’s punishment for only having one button

  13. BoringTroll says:

The shell on the Apple mouse is strong enough, that it will probably work just fine after it is done with the door. Thus the pawnshop pays $2 for a used Apple mouse, vs. $1 for most other USB optical mice.

  14. Dolt says:

What a waste of time–if they Ctrl-click, they could “Save door as…,” name it “Open.jpg” and be done with it.

  15. dono1 says:

A mouse? And here I thought it was the hinge that was squeaking.

  16. systemfreak says:

that’s pretty much the only thing that apple is good for anymore. . . .

  17. grizzlyadam says:

    Introducing Mighty Mouse V2!

  18. MattyDub says:

Somewhere, an Apple fanboy is shooting a REAL mouse
(By real, I mean Microsoft et al, not a living mouse. So no abuse please PETA) Keep up the good adverts though

  19. d20books says:

Looks like someone got a new Apple Magic Mouse.

  20. qwijybo says:

Maybe the click sound informs the people in that room that someone has entered.

  21. ChronicWanderer says:

The mouse is actually there as an elephant repellant. Until it was posted there as a sentry, unauthorized elephants were a constant attractive nuisance.

  22. leedsb says:

A true testament to the ease of use and superior flexibility of Mac. There is nothing that can effectively prop open windows!!

  23. Andreas L says:

    just recently read it somewhere:
“Apple keeps you the doors open, while e.g. Microsoft stable server is used as a step to reach high objects.”

Seemingly one needs both for a successful career…

  24. Xunka says:

Damn it, this place is just infested with mice!

  25. Dave says:

Microsoft mouse trap. Only works about 30% of the time. You should probably update the operating system for a smoother and more frustrating performance.

  26. DB says:

A clear demonstration of the superiority of Apple products.

  27. Daniel says:

That’s an optical mouse. So you can see the door is open.

  32. Rain says:

Anyone else seeing this commercial run through there head?

Mac guy: Hi I’m a door stop
PC guy: and I’m a PC

  33. Banhammer says:

I see what you did thar!

  34. Shimmer says:

That has got to be the most EXPENSIVE doorstop I’ve ever seen.

  35. Buckwheat says:

    Proper use for apple hardware.

  36. Jim-Bob says:

Since it is holding the window open, could it not be considered an “Open Source” mouse? Linux FTW!

  37. Bogdan says:

That’s what you get for not having a scroll btn! :D

  38. RJ says:

You need a Mac to prevent a window from closing

  39. Hoddy says:

I love Macs (I have two Macs and only 1 Windoze PC) … but, seriously; this is the BEST use for one of their mice.
I use proper, two button mice with Macs; no problem – and better ergonomics!

    Hoddy

  40. Gargomon says:

I’m surprised this isn’t actually a Windows mouse, that’s usually the one holding the door open for the viruses.

  41. Anna says:

The funny thing is, I’m using an iMac that happens to be 7 years old (when I have money to upgrade, I will, trust me). My 3rd party multi-button mouse died. So guess what I’m back to using? You’ve got it! The one-button mouse, aka the same one shown propping the door open in the picture. Laugh, and laugh hard. I use ctrl for right-click and page up/down for scrolling. I swear this thing’ll go obsolete before it dies anyway. That’s how it’s been with most of our macs that we’ve had.

    • Vexxarr says:

My only real problem with this model mouse is the curved lip along the bottom edge of the upper shell. How often have you unknowingly moused up to your mouse cable and found you couldn’t click? If you use this mouse, you know what I mean.

    • Multifarious says:

MOST of your macs? And you will be upgrading to a Mac again? Am I the only one who finds this a bit ..what’s the word.. umm… stupi.. err.. counter-inituitive? ;D

  42. Vexxarr says:

So there is a use for that damn thing. Everything I know is wrong.

  43. Danny (A Mac) says:

Ok, Apple is amazing. I have an amazing Macbook. The Mice are great and all of you “PC’s” Don’t know crap.

    -Say NO to Microsoft.

    • TheAntiCat says:

My sturdy Toshiba Lappy cost me $600 bucks & does what I ask of it. The lil bastard can run Left4Dead2 just fine. Your MacBook cost how much? You bought a name, remember that.

  44. Ellis says:

There is a new model available, the magic mouse. Touch to open door. a maximum of five tries required.

  45. Rob says:

good to see people can take a joke!

  46. wabibito says:

Dedicated to all the PC users who I’ve seen flaming this page.

I do more with a Mac before 9:30 a.m. than most people do with a sole PC using just Windows all day.

When I arrive on campus, I log into my iMac. Click on Parallels to open up Windows Vista (version 666, I affectionally call it) to work on our Windows servers and their Access databases and Oracle Banner. I go into remote desktop and manage the OS X servers and all our Mac labs. I’m the Linux head for our group so I VNC into all our Linux servers. Check daemons, logs, transfers, etc.

I don’t waste my time gaming on a PC. If I want to game I’ll take time playing on a console since I use my computer to work.

BTW, the the person who said that Mac users will be upgrading. Well, yeah. My last Mac was an LC II from when in I was in school and I used it until it died and had to upgrade in late 2007.

On the side, I build PCs for others and I generally install a Linux onto it. There are a few Windows people I am constantly having to rebuild their systems for one reason or another. It’s generally related to a farked up registry.

  47. Cibico99 says:

Exactly where it should be, holding a door open, and nothing else.

  48. Serosis says:

“I’m surprised this isn’t actually a Windows mouse”

I need to see what a “Windows” mouse looks like.

BTW this “Mac vs. PC” crap needs stop.
A Mac is a PC that runs Mac OS X and can now run Windows XP, Vista, & 7
Heck even the “IBM compatibles” can run OS X if they got the right hardware.

“I am constantly having to rebuild their systems for one reason or another.”

These people need to learn how to use their computer then, I haven’t had to rebuild my system for over a year, and that was because of a blown capacitor on the motherboard.

  49. billybob says:

lol…the amount of comments of this is quite enteraining. whether your a macky or a….pc windows person….

  50. Serosis says:

I’m usually never offended when it comes to a choice of computers but the terms used for each system gets on my nerves.

I’m an all around computer nerd, you give me a computer with any operating system and I’ll enjoy/hate every last minute. :D
