  1. MeanDean says:

But at least he remembered to tie a red rag on the end, for safety purposes.

  2. Rich says:

“I just found it on the side of the road! I can’t believe somebody would throw out something like this.”

  3. lizardqueen says:

This is the LAST time I ever help you move!!! Lifting a sofa bed is one thing but this is ridiculous

  4. Rob says:

Considering that they were too cheap to hire a tow truck, I wonder what they used to get it into the pickup. “Okay, everyone lift on 3. And don’t scratch my truck!…”

  5. shelbydz says:

I like the red towel tied to the end. Just in case someone didn’t see the empty shell sticking out the back of the truck.

  6. tinkerwitt says:

That’s just amazing. I wonder what kinds of vehicles those are. Almost looks to me like that’s an S-10 hauling a Chevette.

  7. dono1 says:

Well, it *does* have a car-go bed.

  8. upper says:

    “I tol-ja she’d fit…”

  9. Toni04 says:

Some people take recycling too far.

  10. Truthiness says:

“I can explain officer – I needed the spare parts and there was no other way to get them.”

  11. pragmatic cynic says:

Shh, quiet folks. You are witnessing the rare hatchback-pickup truck mating. Few have ever seen this event in occur naturally. Watch as the hatchback mounts the pickup from behind.

  12. JimDawg says:

What it would look like if M.C. Escher designed vehicles.

  13. Daniel says:

I am surprised that the pickup is not doing a wheelie. I am not one to cry photoshop but this looks really weird. Maybe it is an inflatable movie prop and not a real car? It doesn’t look like it weighs at all.

    • Theo says:

Well the main weight of the “towed” car comes from its engine block, which is well forward into the truck bed, so the overall center of balance hasn’t been moved too far back. Dunno how they GOT it there, but it should be stable enough (until/unless somebody starts it up & actually tries to drive).

    • DB says:

It looks like just the body, without most of the mechanicals or even the interior fittings. If that’s the case, it may weigh significantly less than a thousand pounds.

      • BoringTroll says:

Looks like it just got painted. The door post is completely perfectly white. So it got painted after the doors were removed. Oddly, there is still the rubber seal around the opening for the hatch, or perhaps they reinstalled it.

I assume this car body is going to get radically non-standard guts. There is a class of racing which uses normal car body exteriors, but requires a tube frame for safety. It is either that, or the body is destined to be used in an art project. Perhaps it will be installed on the side of a restaurant.

  14. must be one strong tow truck driver hahah

  15. RusFixer says:

There be a smallest hill in this truck’s way, there is gonna be a “sudden frontal traction loss” trouble.

  16. Joeypants says:

In his defense, that does look like a professional tow strap.

  17. Mike says:

That red thing in the back might be the rear tail-light of that car dangling like a wire. But hey, it’s kinda like a red flag!

  18. LG says:

When does anybody think of this as an alternative to tripple A? And how’d they get the car like that?

  19. epic fail says:

‘Just in case it rolls on it’s side, it can keep going, guarenteed!’

  20. Amused_snail says:

Well, it could be worse. Instead of straps the guy in the pickup could have got one of his friends to stand on the cargo bed and hold the car on…

  21. TeacherX says:

That is clearly a car that has been professionally stripped. The carcass has either just been bought or is getting ready to be placed back on the street for the authorities to find.

  22. Gargomon says:

“I asked my dad for a piggy back ride and we went and did this…”

  23. one small step says:

Look att he bright side… there’s no guy holding it on to the back.

  24. TheAntiCat says:

Scrimping on the $20 dollar delivery fee again.

  25. Husabob says:

Take a close look, and you’ll notice the truck is parked on scales, so the carcass(get it “car”cass. jeez, I crack myself up!) is most likely being sold as scrap. The shell looks pretty empty, so a few strong guys would have no problem sliding it in to the bed and holding it until it was secured. This is an awesome low buck kludge, and a money maker to boot! WIN!!

  26. max says:

Damnit! Did the hatch just fly off on the last turn?

  27. teebo says:

If you see this vehicle going up a steep hill, turn away. That car’s gonna come after you.

  28. Dakota Slim says:

Looks like a redneck taking home a new lawn ornament.

  29. Dave says:

The economic downturn has hit car companies the hardest. In an effort to turn higher profits, some dealers are offering a half car free with the purchase of every used truck, “It’s a deal and a half” they say.

  30. John H says:

The guy does towing on the side.

  31. texaz says:

    “Necessity can be a mother…”
