Not only is that rocker switch too close to the door, but it had to be installed sideways.
How is it possible to get a door that close to a corner? No door frame i assume?
Mebbe this was a design from a landlord tired of high electric bills.
“Oh, so you won’t turn off the light when you leave a room? Can’t remember to hit the switch? FINE! Try leaving THIS room without thinking about the light switch.”
yeah there isnt one i think its a free swinig one or somthing to that effect.
Ah “free swing” = “couldn’t be bothered to plan anything out first”
or put a light switch in the right place lol
It’s a way to have a single light switch that can be operated from both rooms! Very clever!
Maybe it’s an automatic switch…Every time the door swings past it, the light toggles on or off.
Intregeing would be a brilliant idea but prob would leed to the switch wearing out and shokc u lol
“Close the door, put out the light…”
“oh, that? It was just a light repair, thats all.”
well bieng that the door has a cut out on it so it dosnt hit the switch lol
I really wish I could see a broader view of this. I imagine they measured the exact width of the wall and just bought a door exactly that size.
He can make auto swich off in this toilet)
“shut the door and turn off the light” in one swift motion.
Yeah so? That’s the moment you stick a bit of plastic over the switch. And you can cut a lot of switch-sized switch protectors from a McD’s serving tray; it’ll be decades before you’re done with just one (provided you don’t use it for anything else). Or wrap up the door handle in *tadaaa* gaffer tape.
Looks like they brought in their switch hitter.
It’s an ADA-compliant light-switch extension handle.
Yes it could work as an automatic switch. And if you are in the room shut the door and switch the switch by hand it could be a lock
Measure twice, cut….
Measure once, kludge it!
I appreciate the thought and planning that went into doing the cut out to swing past safely with the switch in either position. Although it would have been awesome to make so that it only closes with the switch off to force people to turn off the light when they leave.
Did this guy install a door in our favorite hotel bathroom?
That’s the door in its open position, not closed. The doorway is on the other side of the lightswitch in a narrow corridor, and when the door opens, it swings into the lightswitch.
What kind of idiot would install a door in a place right where a light switch obviously belongs?
Personally, I adore this.
I bet when they sell this house (if it doesn’t burn down first) the description will read something like “beautifully restored modern home with unique design elements”… bitter
Watch your fingers when you -turn off the light?
hey, stops people turning off the lights while your having a dump!
What room do the lights turn on/off in? Both? Because that could cause a bit of an inconvenience.
ummm the door is all the way open… it turns on light when u enter ans turns off when door is closed
the wall is the wall strait in from door lol
This is one of those cool motion-sensor lights that turn on when you enter the room.
Nice automatic light switch!
Looks like they brought in their switch hitter!!!
Wow, that’s ingenious!
This is a magnetic door stopper. Not only does it prevent intruders but anyone who walks by the magnetic switch on the wall will have all of their credit cards erased and car keys de-programmed. Oh, and if you are talking on the cell phone it erases everything immediately.
I dont think its a switch it looks like the chair railing they put in retirement homes to keep wheel chairs from scuffing the wall.
