But the toilet still looks a little weird.
Impeccable knotsmanship!
Why settle for just SOAP on a rope?
Can i have the number of that guy???
i have a job for him!!
hmmm. i think a bungie cord would work better lol
I see no duct tape, Epic Fail.
Give him a chance – he’s still working on it! – About to drill his finger. Medic!
Look, he used plastic lumber. It’s eco-friendly.
This guy almost certainly works for OSHA……Occupational Sink Hangers Association.
“How hard can it be? I built a tree fort when I was 10. The principles are essentially the same…”
He’s using some very nice oak flooring!
OK, I get it, Mostly. Just one question. Where’s the drain pipe?
Green string is the new blue pill for all your Faucet Dysfunction needs.
Detail!
@JeremyRKS
Perfect use for an old radiator hose!
They say that you get more money from remodeling the kitchen and bath of your home….. except for this poor soul.
Perfect Hook-line-and-sink-er!
But where are the guest towels. Oh wait, nevermind.
slop sink? slapped together sink! Same diff! Cheers with a cork martini glass to a job well done 8)
Look, the poor thing’s commited suicide in shame.
You can see the guy in the background. He is about to drill a hole in his finger
When someone is taking a picture of you while you’re fixing any item in your home – stop immediately and consider what you may have done (or, if lucky, be doing) wrong.
Note the guy cut off on the left who’s still putting it together. Looks like it’s in a basement, hot and cold water pipes coming down in the top corners, not yet connected. It’s got diagonal bracing, not that rickety. Clearly cobbled together from scrap wood (looks like 2x4s, a 2×6, bunch of 1×4 tongue-and-groove, and a wedge-shaped piece) and not well thought out, but it should withstand light use.
@JB: You’re horrible.
This beyond shocking, its still sinking in.
@Jon : Will try to do better next time…
@buduque
He must be a scout leader!
The planking is to align the basin while the plumbing is put in and the pedestal is cemented on.
The rope is a just-in-case measure to prevent broken basin, broken toes, etc… in event of installer clumsyness.
Quite sensible, actually, in a very fudged-together way.
It is almost halloween- this is a scene in the Contractors’s House of Horrors!
@kludgetron 3000
RoFL!
@DIYKing
LMAO, I was thinking suicidal faucet.
auto-erotic a-sink-xiation.
Again, this site sinks to a new level.
If he’s trying drill a hole through his finger, shouldn’t it be in front of the board?
Looks like something Homer Simpson built.
there is nothing wrong with the sink it is the rope towel rack that is the kludge
So, didn’t anyone else grow up with a fix-it-all Dad? My father was an engineer at Boeing but he also liked carpentry and always had to do everything himself. He loved to build, but only on the weekends, so there was always a place in our house that looked like this as I grew up.
