  1. JB says:

    That a real Chutes and ladders game!

  2. LD says:

    That looks like a WIN for recycling, I doubt that building had that in its OEM plan (looks like a attic ladder.)

  3. Gargomon says:

    Who’s up for a quick game of Jenga?

  4. lizardqueen says:

    OMG? more like WTF?!?

  5. Bruce says:

    Cinderblocks, now on sale at Walmart for $4.72!
    * – shopping cart not included

  6. Does anyone else find it disturbing how many posts on this site involve shopping carts?

    Or death….

    No! They’re everywhere! It’s probably the last thing being manufactured in the US!

  11. littleblack says:

    Can’t wait for dono1 and Badgirl to chime in …. Meanwhile, all I can say is AIIEEEEEE!!!!

  12. Mortal Light says:

    Best title ever..

  13. Daniel says:

    @antman
    Win.

    WTF is the cart supposed to be doing here? It doesn’t hold anything together, it doesn’t add any height. All it does is add some dangerous impaling objects when the whole thing collapses.

  14. TheAntiCat says:

    @Bruce
    What do you mean, just jack the damn cart!

  15. Amandarandom says:

    Wow, it’s like someone looked at a ladder on top of a stack of cinder blocks and thought “No, someone might still walk away from this… how could I make this more dangerous?”

  16. Alcysio says:

    And he’s buuuying a stair(way) to heaven…

  17. dono1 says:

    You could definitely get killed on that thing. I guess it’s a case of putting the cart before the hearse.

  18. Anna Rexia says:

    Careful, the first step is a bit tricky.

    Pardon me while I go change my shorts… ROFLMAO! I’ve had a hard day.

  20. Franco says:

    My question is: Where is that? And where exactly is the ladder going to? From the bottom image, I’d say ‘abandoned subway’, but I’m not sure…

  21. Rach says:

    The cart is there for the handle. You can’t expect somebody to scale a tower of crumbling cinderblocks without a proper foothold.

  22. snotnose says:

    It’s people like this- stealing shopping carts…and we wonder why groceries are getting so expensive.

  23. Michael R says:

    @Daniel
    I think the shopping cart handle is supposed to be the first step.

  24. Tym says:

    How the heck do you actually get onto the ladder… if you really wanted to that is??

  25. Chipmunk says:

    @Tym
    that’s what the shopping cart is for. You climb into the back of it, up the little slope, then onto the top (bottom) and voila, you have reached the Stairway to Heaven.

  26. Badgirl says:

    littleblack – I luv you. I will chime in right after I recover from dono’s post. OMG funny – just hard to beat. Kudos to Antman and Gargomon too.

  27. Badgirl says:

    “No! They’re everywhere! It’s probably the last thing being manufactured in the US!”

    Caskets are still made in US too, which is good news for the people that think the above makes sense.

  28. SpaceKase says:

    The cart is actually supporting the ladder and is also being weighted down by an assortment of broken pieces of cinder block. The logic here is the same as the logic used before any action following “here hold my beer…” Just because I understand the logic involved oh …………does that mean i need to increase my life insurance?

  29. an elite says:

    Britt, Book Habitue :

    I agree. They cost $75 to $100, and people are just stealing them with reckless abandon.

  30. Shimmer says:

    Dear god, someone should have a body-bag ready…

  31. SpaceKase says:

    Shimmer :
    Dear god, someone should have a body-bag ready…

    No Body Bag needed — You can be carted away………..

  32. dono1 says:

    FYI: These look like police photos of an attempted business break-in. The blocks, cart, “ladder”, etc. were just junk that was cobbled together to reach the rafters above. Once they broke through the ceiling however, they discovered they bit off more than they could chew and they probably skedaddled before the police arrived. No doubt it was the work of desperate drug addicts rather than master criminals.

    • CatFace says:

      I think you are right. At first I thought it was rigged up by homeless people, as a way to get warm, but there’s no way a person could walk around up there without going thru the ceiling.

    • yuttivon says:

      This is actually in the underground tunnels of Rochester, NY – my hometown, and i stumbled across this one day when trespassing.. im not the one who posted the pictures, and it shocks me that someone actually found these as well; but theres miles of empty tunnels and this trap-door goes directly into the above ground parking terminal maintenance room. Locked, of course, and the city has begun to fill in the tunnels… but there was many more epic kludges that are not shown, right on the other side of the wall shown in the photo.

  33. Totally agree with @antman’s comment.

    Simply… OMG ;)

  34. Vexxarr says:

    But…the cart…why? WHY???

  35. waldo says:

    simply another use of form boards

  36. Lowbird says:

    for amusment only? i swear, no one will ever climb this ledder and will suwive^^ so i think they are crazy or do it for there amusement ;-)

  37. Bogus Exception says:

    @Vexxarr,

    Because they could, dammit, because they could !

    :)

  38. ChronicWanderer says:

    i think the picture is upside down, (or something)

  39. Catacetacean says:

    I know exactly where this is, the picture is completely right-side-up and the ladder goes to a lame little space in the ceiling. It’s still one epic jury-rigging, however, and feels reassuringly stable to climb, believe it or not!

  40. GabachoMike says:

    Looks like something found on the set of “my name is Earl”.

  41. Coder13 says:

    Not necessarily a good idea. ,

  42. epodon says:

    This IS the stairway to heaven!!!

  43. Elbereth says:

    Evidently, it’s an emergency ladder. The emergency actually arises when you use the ladder. The one who built it must have been a golem, they are always so literal.
