I am always out of hair ties, too. I work close to a spectrometer with a strong magnet, so I’ve used zip ties quite often, since we have quite a few of them in the lab.

Please, Oh PLEASE, take a look at this book for those “Hair Challenged!”. http://www.DADHAIR.com I teaches Dads(anyone really) how to manage their daughter’ hair. A zip tie!? Wow,… might as well use duct tape. LOL Take care, everyone!

I’ve been known to do this. It works fairly well, but is low friction enough that it tends to slip off given enough time.
