1st.
This is awesome. At first I had no idea what I was seeing. But then the magic happened before my eyes.
it will not work, string tied to wrong handle,and needs pully action… fail
They are not even connected! Would not even work
Didn’t see the rivet. Spoke to fast. Neverminder
@Cayenne
@Cayenne haha
@picture nice! should work!
Yeah, it should work… once.
How do you open it after the first cut?
rubber band
Hmmmmmm….Just a little bit off the top, please!
Great, now he can cut paper in a tree house from outside.
I like the elastic band for the auto-open feature.
How clever. A device to snip off the eye stalks of really tall aliens.
Edward Scissorstick.
Pretty sure it’s still only good for one cut though, then you have to bring it down and open the blades.
Great! where can I buy one?
Actually, that’s why the rubber band is on the top handle.
@felix
(Here, I’ll say it for you: “Spoke too fast. Never mind.”)
Kites, I hate Kites! Flyin’ around all high on themselves. I’ll show em.
The new and improved Jeff Dunham puppet, Scissor on a stick.
@Amandarandom: there is a rubber band strapped to the upper lever.
Nice setup for some peaches harvesting…
Rock, paper, freakin’ scissors!
@Oshawa Ogre
I think it WILL work because the bottom is screwed into the stick. Pretty ingenious, really.
Yeah definitely need to bring it back down to open it, though.
Do they make one for staplers?
Top tie is elastic. Bottom string opposes elastic so the operator can close the scissors, then the elastic pulls it open again. Lower jaw is fixed in place with a bolt.
Only problem with this setup is that the scissors are too weak for anything but very small shoots. You’d have to trim the hedge pretty much daily for this to be useful, but as it is, it’s really quite ingenious.
It looks like a peice of elastic is tied between the handle and a string near the top of the stick to open the scissors back up….
I wonder if the elastic is strong enough to do the job.
@Dan
lol…..thats a good one. maybe you should send him that idea.
oh please, just a trim…
This’ll teach them dang kids to come stealin’ my apples! I’ll just set this baby up about torso height, and when they step on the stick tied to this here string, SNIP!
So it is – in that case it’s brilliant and I want to make one!
There, I “fixed” my cheatin’ husband!
There’s some elastic at the top.
Those are Fiskars. I can just hear my mother screaming, “THOSE ARE MY GOOD SCISSORS!” *twitch*
Your mom too?
I think anyone whose mom did any sewing at all had a Fiskar fetish. Woe be unto the child that swiped her good fabric scissors. “PAPER?! You cut PAPER with my good scissors?!”
count me in too: ‘don’t even THINK about touching my good scissors!”
My mom said she had a pair of fiskars that lasted a good coupple years.
Note that its always the moms who will freak out.
@dono – not sure about stapler but I think the one for tape involves an extra long pencil.
Homicide Hedge Clippers.
Another ingenious contender for the next un-useless invention convention!
Version 2.0 will surely include an “Easy Button.”
it really works. Use it every few days for the new growth that is too far to reach with real clippers. I use this in Haiti where I live
Nice pole. Is that hickory?
Fiskars??! Those ARE Fiskars…!!!! Swoon….faint….
My mother would do this one in a heartbeat.
I look through all these with my son who is 3, I laugh so hard at some of these but I have to explain most of them because to a 3 or 4 year old they see absolutely nothing wrong with the majority of kludges.
My dad trims the grass around the edges of the house and the sidewalks with a pair of scissors. No lie. It’s not that he can’t afford a weed whacker, he is just really really bored now that he is retired.
