That is *SO* suggestive!
Huh-huh…Hey Beavis, that computer has wood.
“Pull to turn on”
Sounds like me.
On another note.
Never knew a thumb drive needed an eraser to delete files.
That’s a kludge? When the button broke on my brother’s computer I reached in and poked a couple contacts with a screwdriver to turn it on. This solution was later replaced with a pair of wires that could be touched together.
Your last fixo sound like how to carjack!@The Cat
The computer revolution promised the elimination of paper and pens. We finally have THE proof that it was wrong…
Of course, if this were a Mac, I’m sure it would be a Montblanc pen.
@dono1
(and all the Mac lovers say)”If it were a Mac, it wouldn’t be broken in the first place. Neener, neener.”
This couldn’t be any farther from the truth. Macs used to use Toshiba hard drives…enough said.
Hey! Who took my pencil?
Yes, that’s how we Mac users can afford the Mont Blanc pens. It’s the savings on not having to hire data recovery services and all that essential software and peripherals that don’t come included with the Windows machines.
PC – “A machine designed to do the work of a man.”
Mac – “Your Plastic Pal Who’s Fun To Be With!”
Sticking it to the man goes digital.
hey, is that my old gateway?
This is how they write new software.
Intel Outside
@Thomas Westgard
You’re welcome to come over and fix the cd drive on my iMac, again, and yes that’s a “known weakness” in those machines.
My kids have also killed 5 one button mac mice but my cheapass logitech mouse on my PC lives on.
Demetrius
Maybe you want to say “your unjustibiably expensive plastic pal who makes you feel modern…”
@ Demetrius: Share and Enjoy!
RTFM???
@fordprefect
Of course! This is a Sirius Cybernetics food synthesiser, and it broke while trying to make a cup of tea!
@ Paddy
or might it be the new generation of Sirius Cybernetics automatic door switches ?
Is it bad that I do the same thing with my TV?
@The Cat
When the ignition switch went out on our lawn tractor, my ex was too cheap to order a new one. I had to start it by touching a screwdriver to the (solenoid?) 10 years ago. I was so glad when we finally got rid of that POS.
That computer is a pencild**k.
Nah! Who *doesn’t* want to stab their TV with a sharp stick?
Cool! A USB powered pencil sharpener!
I feel like this is a scene from Home Alone; any robber caught unawares will pull the pencil and have a staple gun shoot at him.
I have a TV that needs the same method for adjusting the volume…
You gotta love those cheap ass eMachines from Best Buy. My dead one looks just like that…minus the pencil. Inventive though.
@one small step: actually that reminds me of the only other hotwiring story I think I have. My dad’s pickup had the same problem and we literally had to hotwire it to make it run. Which looked pretty funny when we did it in the parking lot.
Turns out hotwiring 80s pickup trucks isn’t that difficult… of course there’s also the steering lock to deal with. Actually having the keys meant we didn’t have to kludge around that.
I love my mac heart heart heart
@fordprefect
Aaaaaaah! You’ve made a simple door very happy!
Do the flash card slots take money?
McGyver meets Bill Gates
)
@Thomas Westgard
That has nothing to do with why you can afford a fancy pen. If you already bought one of those overpriced Macs, you’re obviously stinking rich anyway so an expensive pen isn’t reaching.
@dono1
No one actually knows if Macs break because the pre-programmed obsolescence and new x.0 versions come out quicker than even the cheapest parts can break.
Well I fixed my PC when the power button wires snapped after I put in a new CD/DVD drive by button a push button switch on the side of it with ducktape. I think I fixed mine better XD.
Hey, that was the same model as my last computer, the switch fell to s**t on mine too!
That’s what I* said ;D
Someone must’ve called the Teak Squad
Must be a BOY computer….
I jump start my computer!!!! just touch the to wires and bam computer comes on!!!
I did the same thing with my old TV with the missing channel buttons.
Except it was with plastic chopsticks.
The TV had a South Park sticker on the side.
I carry the same sign on me at all times!
I believe a tag reading “DO NOT TOUCH” would have been far more effective
