Holy crap! I’ve seen this car twice while delivering in Seattle. Once on Cap Hill and once by U-Village. Was fumbling for camera phone both times and missed my chance. Glad someone got a picture!
Yep, that self-stick stuff that we covered toy boxes, shelves and such with back in the 1950′s. (I’m agreeing with #8 comment) I think it is ugly…and has the upper left edge flap come unstuck and blown backward away from the gas cap area? Creative, but ugly just the same.
That’s one way to protect your car! We always wondered what our Tool Chests and GearBoxes designs would look like if they were merged with a car. Now we know! The car could use a little work, though
Finally, one of these that I’ve actually seen here in Seattle – and no, it’s not shelf paper – it’s actual diamond plate. No idea *why*, though, other than accident repair gone metastatic.
I saw this car down on Alki Beach in Seattle and had to stop & look at it. i’m a fabricator and I gotta say this car was really well done! They shoulda done the front bumper too though.
I saw this car today parked in the S-1 parking lot at the University of Washington Medical Center. What you can’t see is they have also covered the Toyota Logo on the grill with a piece of sheet metal and have a Transformers sticker in it’s place now!
There is a huge upgrade going on with the mechanical systems there at UWMC (hence why I was there), so I am assuming he is a sheet metal worker by trade. looks pretty snazzy from a foot away.
The color’s right but the texture’s a bit off.
That reminds me the car from that guy Dynamo in Running Man.
These cheap “Lexus look-alike” kits aren’t all they’re made out to be…
For some reason I’m envious of the skills that allowed him to make this.

This car carries “The Tombstone” for the next installment of Death Race movie with Jason Statham.
Complete with acetylene-torch trunk release.
Coming to a dealer near you, the new 2010 Apocalypse Sedan!
The part around the gas cap makes me think the rest is just diamond plate shelf paper over cardboard or wood.

It started with new “midnight sun” headlights and under-chassis neon and ended with recycled garage tool cabinet!
Cara, perfeito!!!!!
Is it just me or does that thing look like the face of a metal Muppet with red lipstick? If the fuel door were opened, it’d even have an ear.
Ugly as all get-out, but you gotta admire the workmanship.
WANT
part car, part hotdog vendor.

Still looks better than the stupid rice racer body kits every boy racer has.
Odd. The trunk does look legit but I am dubious about the part around the gas door. Very cool either way.
Did anyone notice the autobot logo in the back window? Makes you wonder….
Transformers! Roll out!
I’m hell on wheels, and if my boyfriend ever saw this, he would do the same thing to my car… oh dear god, please never let my boyfriend see this!
…makes you wonder if it turns into a robot with trap door long johns.
@Demetrius
I agree.
Look closely at the edges of the trunk – it appears to be plywood.
And I thought the stake-bed Volvo was bad. At least this car owner can pop the trunk, put up an umbrella, and sell chili dogs and chips.

This reminds me of the corrugated iron car: http://tpo.tepapa.govt.nz/ViewTopicExhibitDetail.asp?ExhibitID=MINZ_e1&Language=English#
It just give’s it a certain industrial look
Leaving expensive cars in chavvy areas is always dangerous…
@Concerned…
That would be an additional level of fix win. Fixing the car with plywood and then faux finishing the wood into diamond plate? Brilliant.
that’ll teach those damn tailgaters!
As a rivethead (or something like it), I so want this car…
love it
Now THAT´S pimping the ride.
Master Blaster Runs Barder Town!!
how come it has a matching bumper but not a matching gas lid?!!!!!!!!
what in the heck was he thinking when he forgot the simple details like that!!
I saw this car down on Alki Beach in Seattle and had to stop & look at it. i’m a fabricator and I gotta say this car was really well done! They shoulda done the front bumper too though.
@Gipionocheiyort
you, my friend, have problems! =p
I’ve had it! I’ve been rear-ended more than a old hooker! Slam into that why don’t ya!
Looks like the TIV from Stormchasers.
I totally thought ‘The Tombstone’ too. No-one’s gonna be rear ending -that-.
Seems like someone got wanted a carbon fibre upgrade and went a bit too far.
Correction: 2012 Sedan.
try and Tailgate me now!
Next time that British Secret Agent will STAY in the trunk!
Mel, honey, uh, don’t look in the driveway.
Either he’s trying to keep people out, or keep them in…
“Hey hun! Do you know where my tool box went?”
Repeat after me; “The Humongous RULES the Wasteland!!!”
Death Race was real?
be he’s glad he took Shop class in high school.

looks like it serves hot meals out of the trunk at factory locations for lunchs
Must have been one hell of an aluminum siding salesman
The studio called they want mad max’s car back.
I would guess that’s probably not an autobot… most likely decepticon…
This car was most recently spotted in Leavenworth, WA in mid-october.
It drives, and the owner looked at us funny as we took photos of the kludge in action.
If it’s a Toyota, why his he scared of being rear-ended? The brakes won’t work. Think it through and reinforce the FRONT end!
Doubles as a fallout shelter when the Apocalypse comes….
At least nobody can re shoot the body in the Trunk.
Rednecks should run the world. It would be so much cheaper!!!
guess they got tired of hitch hikers escaping
HaHA, guys its a test mule in disguise so the press wont release photos of the actual model,,, before it long due launch….
