Great work, but I would have gone with plexi so I could at least see out of it.
That car is a waste of good wood panelling.
Nice bit of woodwork – shame about the rest of the car. It reminds me of the old Morris Traveller “Woodies” which we had in the UK.
Pity they neglected the rest of the car.
Hey, at least it is the same color tone as the rust. Glad he didn’t use a dark walnut color!
The title is a total win, btw.
Haven’t you ever heard of carsiding?
Child safety regulations stipulate that if a child is seated in the back of a car in a booster seat or child seat, it must be at least 24 inches away from any cord, especially from Venetian blind as this may constitute a chocking hazard that may be harmful of cause death.
@Daniel
agreed.
Best Security System EVER! …not the wood, the rest of the car!
I kind of like the paneling. I could see doing something like that on purpose. (…something *like* that – not necessarily *that*.) And, I don’t think it makes much of a blind spot. I drive a minivan. And, almost nothing in my field of view is thru the rear quarter glass.
It has a Quebec license plate on it… it’s either a very old photo, or it’s a miracle that such an old car lasted so long without disappearing into a pile of rust.
In this province winters are so rough and we use so much road salt that if you are real quiet at night, you can hear your car rust.
lmaoooo ive seen it all now like some of you have said great paece of wood shame about the rest of the car lol. god id be asheamed of having anything as bad as that on the road lol
I would be recommending a different treatment for the windscreen
@Fireman
Totally agree! I live in Quebec and winter is just around the corner. Literally!
It is an unusually good job for a kluge, in fact there’s likely more work in doing this than there would be in going down to the junkyard and obtaining a genuine replacement window. I’ve done that more than once myself.
“Shiver me timbers, matey! That’s quite a vessel ye be sailin’. How many miles to the galleon?”
neither wood nor rustEZE will get the car back in shape… or was it a construction made at “Scrapheap challenge”???
Best. Title. Ever.
honestly, couldnt they have painted over the rust spots?
I took a photo of this a few months ago in Chelsea, QC. It really is as awesome as it looks. Quality workmanship.
It may also serve the added function of letting carbon monoxide exhaust from the passenger compartment. So it’s a safety feature.
This guy is a salesman of venetian blinds who sells door-to-door
witty title!
It’s actually one of those new high-tech glasses that eliminate glare from low sun and badly adjusted headlights.
… Or in reality it’s an attempt to hide the motorist from overtaking motorists of the apparent shame of driving such a crapheap.
Venetian Blind Spot! LOL!!! I already knew you where amazing at making up these headlines but this one is shear genius! Not a bad band name either I might add.
gives me a woody…
Why darken the windows of your car when you can use Shutter Shades?
This one’s perfectly legal (and even safe). You don’t need a window in that position on a station wagon. Of course, it probably isn’t watertight, so the seats are all moldy, but if you’re driving a kludge-mobile like that, you probably don’t care.
Same model as my first car, ’93 Cavalier Wagon. Here I thought mine looked bad….
