Sorry- no clever quip. I think this is a nice one- we did the same thing with our fixed shower head (but ours looks a little better). I’m tall and hated scrunching to get under the spray. Now we can have it pour straight down. Bliss.
Man, I wish I would’ve thought of this… being 6’4 has it’s ups and downs especially since the floor is WAY too far away, whose idea was it to put it way down there?
We have this exact same showerhead. Uh, minus the zip ties and extra pipe… sadly, we didn’t put the bracket on the wall yet because the previous owner had a mental breakdown while in the middle of renovating this house. Most of the stuff is more a WTF than a “there, i fixed it”.
This is a constant complaint I have, especially about showerheads in hotels. Hello! Business travelers? Usually men? Average height of men is greater than 5′ whatever? I’m 5’8 and find many showerheads too short! We extended ours by way of a flexible arm attached to the showerhead. I ditto the bliss!
I’m confused, that wall attachment looks like one of those rods you can slide the shower head up and down on, and it looks like the attachment is about in the middle. If they slid it all the way to the top of the rail the head would be about where it is now.
I give it an A+. Excellent use of zip ties and the tile is clean. I also like the color coordination of scrubies, curtain and ceiling. AND no tampons in frame, no openly exposed use of electrical extension cords. Well done.
You can actually buy and install actual shower extensions with a little plumbers tape cheaply and easily. At a mere 5’10″ was always scraping my head against shower heads until I learned this trick.
They’ve taken care of the height but what about the width? They’ve got a five-way shower head and a tub so narrow they can only use the “center jet” setting.
Right again dono, the stall is narrow. He needs one of those curved shower rods like in the swanky hotels. He could zip tie one of those up there, no problem.
Solway :
lol thats like my shower head
im 6″ 11″, the way people install sanitaryware is so annoying for me
i can wish my balls in the sink its that low for me.
Sadly, these pages confirm that those zip ties are slowly substituting traditional, rock-solid DUCT TAPE. I am seriously worried.
Hope to see you soon on these pages, ducty…
Wow… this actually gives me an idea… the extended pole actually makes washing one’s undercarriage and nether-regions a bit easier… all without bending over. That is… if it’s removable from the convenient mount point.
that’s fantastic! being 6’8″ at 17 years old is hard enough to fit through doorways and things like that but to find a shower that’s big enough…i would crawl through midget doorways for that. oh and short countertops WTF are those about???
Comes out from under bridge yells FIRST!!

I accept this as a proof: fixing a shower is easier than you think

I’d like to see that in a portable version I can take on the road for short hotel showers–one that wouldn’t get me jacked up in airport security.
*shrug*

6’3″ and the college dorm showers are high enough, but the beds aren’t long enough
@Chris
PVC pipe?

I see that all the time, especially in young people rental units. I am tall, I would do that if I had to.

@dono1
Maybe he also has a very large head that captures all the jets in the “spray” setting.
oh, what a beautiful pink & blue bath scrunchie.
love it! *grabs zip ties and sprints to the bathroom*
Sort of defeats the purpose of a removable shower head.
Now it’s Shower on a Stick.

@Pat
Actually, the entire thing should still be able to be removed just as before. You just end up with a longer handle.
I don’t get it. ‘course I’m only 5′ and haven’t run into a shower head that too short. Most of them I can barely reach to adjust!!!!
I am 6′ 2″ and the wife is 5′ 2″ so I win. This one…
@Badgirl
How many ‘swanky’ hotels have you been in?
Tie wraps… How primitive… Duct tape! People should get it by now!
I wash I was that tall! Nice typo…
Damn spelling… I were that tall!
I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express once.
Some black market shower head. They’re all made in the former Yugoslavia. And from what I hear, the Serbs are fanatic about their showers.
Sadly, these pages confirm that those zip ties are slowly substituting traditional, rock-solid DUCT TAPE. I am seriously worried.

@brabus
I once had a broken roll of duct tape and fixed it with a zip tie.
@Daniel
IMPRESSIVE.
But… what? a broken roll of duct tape? Is that ever possibile?
I’m trying to imagine a fix using both zip ties AND duct tape, but there are questions that an uman mind is bound to ask.
@JBD
damn that “a” is so close to the “i” button
lol
…and Soap on a Rope.
@Andrea
Oh, so you moved into our old house???
@Pat
When you’re really tall, this is the one and only purpose of a removable shower head.
@Solway
I’m the same height. Yours must hang pretty low if you can wash ‘em in the sink.
here you go…
