stray bottle tops make terrific cat toys. There are probably 30 of them under my furniture right now.

  10. Keren says:

uno de los inventos de la Pila Maino Pimstein!

  11. Jon says:

@McGuyver5000 Well, of course it’s a Mt. Dew or Sprite bottle. It’s a “green” project, is it not?

  12. mort says:

reminds me of when my brother and i were kids. we would make slip and slides using hefty bags, double-sided tape and tent stakes to hold it down. just put the garden hose to it and voila…hours of fun…at least until dad came out and hogged it for himself. i don’t know who had more fun, my brother and me or our dad. good times!!!

  13. baxstage says:

    That is genius!!!

  14. dono1 says:

Better hope it’s decaffeinated or the garden gnomes will be up all night.

Don’t stop him now ladies and gents, he’s on a roll!

  27. RJ says:

I did a similar hack some time ago. Just that it wasn’t a bottle, but an old garden hose punctured at strategic places with the end closed.

  28. Nico says:

I recycle my sprite bottles almost in the same way.

    1) fill half of a sprite bottle with water.
    2) use a champagne or wine cork and pass a foot air pump chord through it
    3) Stick cork in bottle
    4) turn bottle upside down and have it hold like that using some kind of hand made ramp.
    5) Pump a lot until the bottle blows high above the trees :) If you do it near your bushes you can also water the plant and entertain the kids.

  29. wolf888 says:

    genius!

  30. I’m totally doing this. All over my garden! If you use a smaller bottle, do you get a different result? I’ll check it out.

Man! I’ve probably blown half a grand on sprinklers that don’t do the job. If it’s this easy & cheap I’m gonna invest in Coke products – after a good self dope-slap…duh, why didn’t I think of this?

  39. lyn says:

Brilliant!! Probaly works a heck of lot better that a couple of the sprinklers we have at home right now. Going to give it a try. BTW, thanks!

  62. laberlabanz says:

Sheer genious! It’s in the small things the true nature of man comes out! Brill!!

  63. jeditalian says:

i have thought about that, all you should need is a female-female adapter for the waterhose. i have never seen such a thing, but if they don’t sell them it would be easy to make from a couple old waterhoses, or parts from the hardware store.

  64. DC says:

    A+ for recycling

    A for creativity

F- for the amount of water its going to waste from inefficiency. To much water with poor distribution uniformity. You will waste more water than if you watered with your thumb over the end of the hose. Its not just about plastics, think of water too….

  65. T8te says:

If you use big holes on one side and small holes on the other, I think it might roll if the pressure if high enough…
