The problem with this setup is this: Assuming that the car can attain speeds of 55 mph or above, and that the umbrella can withstand such speeds, the curve of the umbrella will act like an airplane wing, or upside-down spoiler, greatly reducing the car’s grip on the road.
Assuming, that is, that the person isn’t just using this while it’s parked to keep rain out. Is there any reason to suspect that s/he would be using this while driving? I’ve put a tarp over a car with a broken sunroof, but I took it off before I drove the car. It’s a relatively nice car (the leather’s even in good shape), so clearly their “fix” has clearly held up so far.
Obviously trying to be funny…but if you seriously get your sunroof stuck in the open position, there’s a way to pop off the plastic housing where the electrical switch is and hand crank them shut. My Audi came w/ the crank even.
I see Mary Poppins got her driver’s license.
dono1…you are hilarious.
What is interesting is the wear/tear on this thing…it’s been there for a WHILE.
lol money saving methods?
lol
If that car moves at more than 10 mph, which is not a given, then that is the best umbrella ever.
Hope there isn’t too much wind when it rains
@wind: They have an umbrella sticking out of their sunroof and you think they have anything worth stealing?
A good example of why it’s not always a good idea to get the sunroof.
@the cat
I dunno, that’s a pretty handsome umbrella (NOT).
and the car MIGHT have some loose change or perhaps an after-dinner mint wedged in the seat?

“When I grow up, I want to be Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”
from experience what everyone is saying about speed is true. Even a nice umbrella is going to break at highway speeds. Fine for parking I suppose.

If you drive fast enough, fewer raindrops will get in the car.

wouldn’t some gaffa tape and plastic sheet be a more aerodynamic solution?
I don’t know about gaffa tape, but a duct tape will be perfect solution.
<—-Australian. we call the fat silver fixer of all things gaffa tape.
I have a Fiero with a leaky sunroof gasket, and I just sealed it with aluminum tape. Best stuff ever.
LOL! So when you get a hole in that umbrella, you going to fix it with a scotch tape??
In todays news, Mary Poppins was the victim of a hit and run…..
Um, OOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKKKAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!

Marry poppins tried to pull a fast one
Whoa! If somebody get me a giant size umbrella, I’d love to use it on my cabriolet!
