It actually looks like it’s a lead for a dog? Note the other rope tied to the middle of the horizontal rope. It’s long and seems to vanish outside the frame of this photo. Clearly it’s not a “security” device for protection of that crap car.
It may be to corner off the sidewalk but I’m stretching here…
Or
Hey look!!! It’s a tug of war between a table and a car!!! My money’s on the table!!! (Not!!!)
Matt, I immediately figured it might be a dog lead/run as well. I’ve seen some interesting ones before. Saw one at a cabin once that was a good 50′ long and the dog had a lead attached via a pulley. That dog got had a lot of space to move around while tied up.
@karoop
Well, I think looks like a old Mitsubishi Lancer (mid/late 80′s model).
Anyway the photo is taken in Norway (I recognize the store logo), and as far as I know I don’t think there are any “Polonez” in Norway. I for one has never even heard of it…
I will turn on my anti-gravity ray causing all the OTHER cars in the world to float away, leaving me with the only one left. And then Pinky, World Domination!
Aww come on… like you guys never send your car out to walk your picnic table… You know if you dont walk the picnic table it just makes a mess on the floor…
This is OBVIOUSLY a car owned by 2 cowboys from the past, that were recently transported forward in time, going in to get a drink at the local pub, tying off their horse. *blink*

“Yep, there’s Trigger, right where I left him. Good boy Trigger, here’s some oats.”
Just moving the picnic table.
“Don’t steal my table!”

Looks like a Polish car ‘Polonez’… Well, not the first time I got embarrassed by my own nation
Mmmm, hot dogs.

Maybe he think his car is a horse, because it have horse power…
That one may be a Mitsubishi but you shoulda seen the one that got away.
@ Miguelito
Thanks for correcting me! See folks, you *can* learn something from the Internet and its Netizens!
Now I see something different, the picnic table has loose tooth with a string tied to it. The other end is tied to the car door…
In my opinion, its spiderman’s car. Its trying to fight the evil picnic man.
time for a shot and a beer at OK coral
@Andis
It’s a 100% Polish Polonez, but what is it doing in Norway? Geeeeeez, dunno.
All the cars in my town look alike, but I found a way to locate mine in the parking lot now.
What are we going to do today Brain?
I will turn on my anti-gravity ray causing all the OTHER cars in the world to float away, leaving me with the only one left. And then Pinky, World Domination!
His other car is a pontoon boat.
if your going to steal my picnic table you’re going to have to steal my car!
Spiderman? Please! Clearly the driver is blind, and this is how he finds his way back to his car after powering down a few dogs.
this reminds me of a Disney movie.
It’s obvious really, he doesn’t want the car to run away.
karoop its not look like “polonez”. This is “polonez” for 100%. I have one in my garage
It’s Poland and that is 90′ polish Car.
80′
Cheapest handbrake cable I could find.
Yep — that’s the thing about these older cars — you have to tie ‘em up or they just wander off!
Clever! Noone’s going to steal that table now for sure!

Looks like a modern day hitching post. That means the car must be a Pinto or a Mustang…
This’ll keep the damn skateboarders outta here!
Clothesline
