ahh I find this perfectly acceptable. when you gotta go you gotta go
Niiice…
And what’s wrong with this? It’s exactly the kind of thing I would do.
That’s genius! Urban design in and out
Awesome! As a lifelong MacGuyverer (sp?) I’ve used a wire coat hanger for more things like this than I can count. Bonus points for keeping it intact and using the hook. Huzzah!
Yeah but …. is that a bath rail?
I have this too. I fitted a magazine rack in the bathroom, and used a clothes hanger to make a toilet roll holder underneath it. I’ll pic and submit when I get home.
You need some Adverts for me to click on. I like this web page.
I don’t see how this can be called Rube Goldbergian..
More like “Recycling is Good, Right?”
hey, it will work in a pinch.
should’ve done it with greasy hands. the results would have looked good.
Totally inspired by the clojo tissue holder by desginer Henk Stallinga:

I think that’s terribly clever.

There’s a perfectly good towel bar on which you can rest the roll.
Good simple design.
Not a fail for sure.
This is really cool. It’s even easy to change rolls, by bending the axle perpendicularly to the plane of the hanger.
Nicely done. Cheap & effective.
@Judith
lol that’s awesome!!!
I have one of these in my bathroom, but mine is heart-shaped.
Sure beats the heck out of $150 from Restoration Hardware, looks like something that would sell at Linens and Things, oh wait… they went out of business here.
perhaps, this is a new design for toilet paper retentive and not for dispenser!!!
Nothin’ wrong with that. Miser MacGyver salutes you.
this one isn’t at all funny. because it’s just a clever makeshift loo-roll holder. kind of misses the point.
looks like a good idea though!

patent that!
THIS IS COMPLETELY AND ETERNALLY AWESOME!
Hey, that was my idea!
I’m glad to see a lot of people doing the same thing.
Some room designers just put the holder in the wrong place, either out of reach from the sitting position or too close to the shower head’s splashing range.
Used this design the other day, with a slight mod. I added a “bulge” to the end of the roll holder to help keep it on. And yes, here in Australia the toilets DO flush in the other direction!
Hah!
Matches my bathroom shower holder exactly!
Wire clothes hangers are becoming a bugger to get hold of, though.
simple, innovative, cheap, and looks like it WORKS! I’ve cleaned lots of houses and there are a lot of poorly designed/made/placed toilet paper holders out there.
Until now, the only reason to keep a metal hanger any more is to unclog vacuum hoses, but this makes it number two. (ha, ha)

Apprently Henk Stallinga invented this.

*apparently

This is the first time on thes site. Man, this is some funny stuff!
I’ve seen similar
This is for the ISS ,only cost NASA 3 million to design.
this is not a bad idea
I’ve gotta say it …
“NO WIRE HANGERS!”
whoa these people are weirdo………
My dad actually did something like this. My disabled sister destroyed the existing toilet paper holder, so he rigged a temporary holder at a height adjusted to her requirements.
