  1. 3 heathens says:

wouldn’t silver duct tape have been better? not funnier, but – better.

  2. Rob says:

I guess all they had on hand was black duct tape. Maybe it was packing tape taken from someone’s box they were mailing.

  3. boaks says:

lol, leave it to Pittsburgh… Love my city! ;-)

  4. JKirchartz says:

I used to busk on this corner … before this tape it was a couple chunks of 2×4 spray-painted silver I think this looks much better since the T’s been missing for over 5 years

  5. Takashi says:

haha, here’s where it’s located on Google Maps Street View.

  6. Hryckowian says:

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the post office went and screwed it all up, and sprung for a real metal T for the wall.

    Makes me sad, it does.

  7. CapnCaveman says:

Judging from Takashi’s link, they need to fix the “P” in PA now. Might I suggest using a piece of STEEL? I’m from Lebanon PA and we have plenty of that stuff available, so you’d think the home of the freaking Steelers would have a few scraps handy.

  8. trolomatic says:

this looked shopped i can tell from some of the pixels and from seeing quite a few shops in my time

  9. QuickFix says:

look on Craigslist for a new T. They should be able to pick one for less than a buck!!

  10. go_Waitak says:

The ‘P’ isn’t missing – that’s where two photos have been joined. Look at ‘United Sttes’, ‘Post Offce’and ‘Carson Staton’.

  11. “Minutes before gunning down 4 others and turning his pistol on himself, the gunman was seen running toward the Carson St. Post Office with a roll of duct tape.”

  12. Luke Munnell says:

South Side!!! Miss ya, PGH :’-(

  13. Thy42 says:

    exactly.

  14. Tina says:

Unbelievable. Only in my city!!! Love it!!!

  15. Cheri S. says:

Yep, that’s Pittsburgh in a nut shell.

A while ago, there was twine holding the wrought iron gate to the car on the Monongahela Incline. Yeah…..

  16. Cheri S. says:

Also, it probably wasn’t the post office that did it. It was most likely some drunk coming out of a bar and going to Tom’s Diner at 2 in the morning.

  17. Dana says:

    I love my city.

Totally agree with you, Cheri, someone probably saw that “t” and yelled, “Don’t you lookit my girlfriend like ‘at, letter t! Now I’m gonna hafta kick yer ass!” all slurred and Yinzer, and then continued stumbling down E. Carson, sad and alone.

  18. Ashlie says:

    i love my pittsburgh :)

  19. TMOH says:

Am I the only one reminded of a certain Discworld novel here?

“Neither rain nor snow nor glo m of ni t can stay these
    messengers about their duty.”

  20. AC says:

    good enough for government work.

“The US Postal Service: We put the Pit in Pittsburgh”

  21. Tindi says:

@TMOH I was going to say it, but you did. :D

  22. Goth girl says:

    That’s not really funny……………
