The whole three feet you’ll be able to see will make all the difference at night.
If they managed to rig those to the interior headlight controls, then it might qualify for MacGyver status. If they also got them to shoot torpedoes made from tampons and corn flakes, they’d win the MacGyver Olympics.
That’s ridiculous, you can’t make a torpedo out of cornflakes… Now shredded wheat.. oh heck here comes that dang goldmember.. gotta go.

If your car is busted up like this, the only thing that makes it unlucky is that it has YOU as a driver. Aside from a potential for a random tree limb hitting, odds are you should not be behind the wheel.
I can say from experience (due to a failed alternator) that flashlights are ineffective for night driving and the only benefit they give is the extra light you get from other people high-beaming you
